Name of the Activity : 2024 Science Month Culmination
Venue : Mainit National HighSchool
Date : September 27, 2024
Theme : “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa
Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan.”
Science Club organized a vibrant science quiz for all grade levels, which
sparked enthusiasm among the learners. The students particularly enjoyed the
Science Olympics, featuring fun and challenging events like Paper Tower Building,
Paper Airplane flying, Egg Throwing, Weight lifting, Bottle Emptying, and Flipping the
Bottle. Additionally, they showcased their creativity through poster and slogan-
making contests. The celebration included a science trail and a film showing that
highlighted popular sci-fi movies and after the film showing the Club Officers gave
trivia to the students, allowing students to explore the imaginative side of science.
This variety of activities not only made learning engaging and enjoyable but
also emphasized the importance of creativity and collaboration in the field of science.
These activities not only fostered collaboration and teamwork among learners but
also sparked curiosity about the ever-evolving world of science and technology.
Science Month is more than just a celebration; it’s a powerful platform for
showcasing the talents and skills of every learner in the realms of innovation and
discovery. This month served as an opportunity for students to express their
creativity and curiosity by encouraging them to explore and present their unique
ideas. Hence, the Mainit NHS Science Club highlighted the importance of critical
thinking and problem-solving in the scientific process highlighting the sense of pride
in the abilities of the learners and cultivating a lifelong passion for science which
empowers them to become the next generation of innovators and thinkers who
drives positive change in our world.

Overview:
Science Club organized a vibrant science quiz for all grade levels, which
sparked enthusiasm among the learners. The students particularly enjoyed the

For Grades 7 and 8, students performed lively science jingles, while Grades 9
and 10 performed a spirited chorus competition, showcasing their vocal talents
through environmental/science-themed songs. Lastly, the Senior High school
students from Grades 11 and 12 participated in a captivating cosplay parade,

Objectives:
The Science Month culmination was a one-day celebration only. The event
began in the morning with a prayer, followed by the national anthem performed by
the glee club. Ms. Kathy Leah S. Servas, the JHS Science Club Adviser, delivered
the opening address, after which the science club officers presented an intermission
number. A series of engaging activities filled the rest of the morning.
In the afternoon, the program continued with opening remarks from Audrey RJ
Montaner, the Science Club President. Julianna Copo then introduced the judges
and explained the mechanics and criteria for the competitions. Exciting contests

These competitions were designed to make learning science fun, while encouraging
students to apply scientific concepts in creative and practical ways.
The Science Trail activity challenged students to navigate through various science-
themed stations (Water Relay, Don’t break the Tissue, Compile the Cups, Find Me).
At each station, students had to successfully complete a task in order to advance to
the next, ultimately racing to the finish.
To add a layer of entertainment and learning, the Science Club organized a film
showing of popular science fiction movies. Afterward, students participated in a trivia
challenge based on the films they watched.
Students from Grades 7 and 8 showcased their talents by performing lively jingles.
Senior high school students from Grades 11 and 12 added excitements to the event
with a cosplay parade. Participants dressed up as famous figures from the world of
science, including contemporary scientists, as well as innovative creations using
recycled and indigenous materials. This activity promoted resourcefulness, creativity,
and environmental awareness.

Conclusion:
The 2024 Science Month Culmination was an inspiring and impactful event. It
successfully engaged students in a range of science-based activities, from
competitions to creative performances. These events not only reinforced the
importance of science and technology in everyday life but also provided students
with opportunities to explore their interests, develop their skills, and foster a love for
innovation. This year's celebration truly embodied the theme, “Siyensya,
Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na
Kinabukasan”, and set the stage for future leaders and innovators who will continue
to drive positive change in our world.
