We started by learning how to use chess pieces. At first, he struggled to know it, but I
was patient and encouraging him. Over the next few weeks, we practiced all our spare
times and I could see my brother’s skills improving rapidly. Teaching my brother how to
play chess was a rewarding experience for both of us. I enjoyed sharing my passion
with him and he was cloud nine for the oppoturnity to learn from me.
One of the most memorable instances where I was late for a meeting was during my
first year of university. I had an important group project meeting scheduled with my
team, and I had planned to arrive 15 minutes early at the designated location. However,
I ended up oversleeping due to a late-night study session and woke up an hour after the
meeting had already started. I immediately called my group members to apologized for
my late and I quickly rushed to the meeting location. By the time I reached the meeting
venue, my teamates had already covered most of the topic and I felt like I had missed
out on crucial information and discussion points. However, I offered to catch up on what
I had missed. I learned an important lesson that day about the importance
of punctuality and being responsible for my commitments. Since then, I have made
a conscious effort to prioritize my time and ensure that I am always punctual for
meetings and other important events.
One decision that comes to mind is when I decided to wait to buy a new laptop. I
had been using my old laptop for several years, and it was starting to show its
age. It was slow and the battery life was poor. I knew I needed a new one, but I
was hesitant to spend a lot of money on a new laptop. After doing some
research, I found that new models were going to be released in a few months,
and the prices of the current models were likely to drop so I decided to wait until
the new models came out and then make a decision. It was difficult to wait, as I
was eager to have a new laptop, but I knew it would be beneficial in the long run.
When the new models were released, I was able to compare the features, prices
and find a laptop that suited my needs and budget. Therefore, I ended up saving
a significant amount of money by waiting and purchasing the previous year's
model.
This experience taught me the importance of patience and doing research
before making a big purchase. It also showed me that waiting for something can
have its benefits, as it can lead to better options and savings in the future.
Actually, there have been many situations in my life where I have had to deal
with time constraints, one of the most was when I had to complete a university
assignment in a very short amount of time. It was during my first year of
university, when I was a freshman. The allowed time for the whole team and me
to prepare was 5 days. Because that was our first and vital project at class, we
felt puzzled and I was drowning in it. Moreover, I was chosen to be the leader so
there were lot of tasks waiting for me to be carried out, like dividing tasks for
each member, doing group disscusion. I can say that we work smoothly and
effectively on team assignment. I guess this is because our personalities are
quiet similar and we also share a lot of common interests. Therefore, we finished
the project with flying colors. Although it was quite tough for me at that time, it
was such a rewarding experience since I gain valuable lessons in time
management and dealing with stress.
