Practical No- 11 Defect report for ATM Machine

1. Defect ID: Unique identifier for the defect (e.g., ATM-001).

2. Summary: Brief description of the defect (e.g., "ATM does not


dispense cash for valid withdrawal requests").

3. Module: The specific module where the defect occurred (e.g.,


"Cash Withdrawal").

4. Test Case ID: The ID of the test case that revealed the defect
(e.g., TC-010).

5. Severity: The impact of the defect on the system:


 Critical: Major issue causing the system to be unusable.
 High: Significant functionality affected.
 Medium: Some functionality affected but not critical.
 Low: Cosmetic issue or minor glitch.

6. Priority: Urgency for fixing the defect:


 High: Needs an immediate fix.
 Medium: Should be fixed in the next release.
 Low: Can be fixed in a future update.

7. Environment: Details about where the defect was found (e.g., ATM
Model XYZ, Software Version 1.2.3).

8. Steps to Reproduce: Steps to replicate the defect:

1. Insert ATM card and enter the correct PIN.


2. Select "Withdraw Cash."
3. Enter an amount within the account balance.
4. Confirm the withdrawal.

9. Expected Result: What the system should have done (e.g., "ATM
should dispense the requested amount and update the account
balance").

10. Actual Result: What the system actually did (e.g., "ATM displayed
a 'Transaction Successful' message but did not dispense any cash").

11. Attachments: Screenshots, logs, videos, or error codes for


reference.

12. Status: Current status (e.g., "Open," "In Progress," "Resolved").


13. Reported By: Name of the tester who identified the defect.

14. Assigned To: Name of the developer or technician responsible for


fixing the defect.
