 This is an individual assignment.


 You must use font Calibri, Arial, or Times New Roman size 12, set number of the
pages and use multiple line spacing at 1.5. Margins must be: left: 1.25 cm; right: 1
cm; top: 1 cm and bottom: 1 cm.
 The presentation should adhere to a formal structure, including these components:
 Table of Contents
 Executive Summary
 Discussions (main content of the report)
 Conclusion
 Reference List
 Appendix (if necessary)
 You should use in text references and a list of all cited sources at the end of the
essay by applying Harvard referencing style.
 The recommended word limit is 4500-5000 words (+/-10%), excluding the tables,
graphs, diagrams, appendixes and references. You will not be penalized for
exceeding the total word limit.
 The cover page of the report has to be the Assignment front sheet 1 (to be attached
with this assignment brief).

Vocational scenario

You have been appointed as the new CEO of a large organisation in Vietnam that has recently
experienced a significant decrease in innovation, employee engagement, and overall company
performance. The board of directors has tasked you with revitalizing the organization and
fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.

As the new CEO, you recognize the importance of understanding various leadership and
management theories to guide your actions in revitalizing the organization. You decide to

conduct a comprehensive analysis of different leadership and management theories and
principles. By examining these theories, you aim to identify key insights and strategies that
can be applied to address the organization's challenges effectively.

Assignment activity and guidance

The analysis should include the followings:

1. Discuss different theories of leadership in relation to the management activities in


different organisations.

- Student should review various leadership theories that have been discussed in class.

- Explain each leadership theory to understand its principles, assumptions, key


concepts, or proponents.

- Find real-world case studies or examples for each theory that illustrate the
application of different leadership theories in different organisations.

- To enhance the quality of the report, student is required to analyse the impact of the
application of leadership theories on the effectiveness of a large organisation.
2. Explore different theories of management in relation to the management and leadership
activities in different organisations.

- Student should review various management theories that have been discussed in
class.

- Explain each management theory to understand its principles, assumptions, key


concepts, or proponents.

- Find real-world case studies or examples that illustrate the application of different
management theories in different organisations.
- For further understanding, student should analyse the impact of the application of
leadership and management theories on the effectiveness of a large organisation.
3. Assess different leadership and management styles and their application in a range of
business situations in different organisations by giving examples.

- Identify and describe various leadership styles and managagement styles.


- Provide examples to illustrate how different leadership and management styles are

- To enhance the discussion, student should compare the impact of leadership and

4. Examine the factors that influence the development of the culture in organisations.

- Identify factors influencing organizational culture.


- Combine real-world case studies to illustrate how these factors influence the
development of organizational culture.
- Based on your discussion, evaluate the importance of organisational culture on the
performance of different organisations.

5. A conclusion to summarize all the key findings and analysis must be presented. To
upgrade, student needs to critically evaluate the impact of different approaches to
leadership and management.

Plus, student should carry out a self-criticism on your own work (in terms of strengths
and weaknesses).
