I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

1. Describe the drug scenario in the Philippines


2. Explain the concept of drug dependence, drug misuse, drug abuse and drug
tolerance.
3. Create a silhouette of a man or woman’s figure and show the four ways on
how drugs enter’s the body

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Health- Prevention of substance use and abuse; Drug scenario in the Philippines

Materials: Television, Laptop and PPT

References: MAPEH 9 Book, Internet

III. PROCEDURES:

A. Preliminary Activities

B. Motivation
The teacher will show a picture of drugs and ask the students about their idea about the picture.

The teacher will ask the students why they think drug is dangerous in the physical, emotional,
social and spiritual health of a person, and why they should avoid dangerous drugs.

The teacher will ask the students to get ¼ sheet of paper and answer the following
questions that are flashed on the screen.
1-2. Two types of Drugs

3-5. Three Commonly abused Drugs

6-10. There are six Common concepts in drug Education, give at least five.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Ways Drugs of Abuse Enter the Body

Draw a silhouette of a man or woman’s figure. Show four ways by which drugs of abuse enter
the body.
