System Overview
The Model 630097 PowerView™ 12MP-180 and Model 630098
PowerView™ 25MP-72 Image Capture systems are designed to be
used for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Volumetric 3-Component
Velocimetry (V3V), and Planar Laser Induced Fluorescent (PLIF)
measurements.
The camera captures particle images from the illuminated flow field
in order to determine the velocity of many points within the flow
simultaneously.
Two modes of operations are offered in the camera: Model 630097 PowerView Camera Model 630098 PowerView Camera
Free-Run mode is used mainly for focus, alignment, and
diagnostics of the system.
Synchronized mode is employed for actual flow field
measurements. Scope

Cable Connections
Three types of cables are included with the camera.
1. The first is the power cable that connects from the PWR
connector on the camera to a standard wall outlet.
2. The second cable is the trigger/strobe cable. This cable connects
from the CTRL connector on the camera. The wire labeled
“Trigger” is connected to the provided BNC cable. The wire
labeled “Strobe” is not attached to anything for normal PIV
operations with Insight software.

the synchronizer.
