lectures about what is going on in the country they immigrate helps them to avert culture shock
and broaden their social circle with foreign friends.

On the other hand, those who say that people are becoming self-reliant emphasize the
autonomy and self-sufficiency that technological advancements confer upon them. One
prominent example is that by using online learning platforms such as Udemy or Skillshare,
individuals can acquire new knowledge and skills independently, reducing their dependence on
experts or authorities. Another example can be seen in the way people entertain themselves
these days, as many prefer staying at home and playing video games instead of holding parties
and socializing with their friends. Considering these factors, the belief that people have become
more independent on an individual level seems perfectly justifiable.
