Please find enclosed “Basic Guidelines on Mission Amrit Sarovar implementation at MoRT&H” for immediate necessary action by all ROs. “Basic User Guide for Amrit Sarovar Online Portal” is also enclosed and links for Complete Guidelines and Joint Advisories including details of portal and concerned persons for technical support are annexed. ii) Amirit Sarovars are proposed to be constructed in the vicinity of the infrastructure projects (which require earth) and the material dug out from Amrit Sarovar shall be utilized for civil work. ii) District Magistrates may be approached immediately for selection of suitable site for construction of Amrit Sarovars. The minimum size of each Sarovar shall be 1 (one) Acre and minimum distance from adjacent Sarovar should be maintained 100 m. iv) After selection of the site, the Amrit Sarovar shall be mapped by the ROs in the “Amrit Sarovar Online Portal” with requisite field information. ¥) The soil/earth of the Sarovar site needs to be tested to ascertain its suitability in respect of all relevant parameters/specification for construction of embankments in National Highways. In case the excavated soil is not suitable for embankment material, fresh location may be explored. vi) The progress of work for each Amrit Sarovar needs to be updated on daily basis on the prescribed Mobile App with the help of District Administration and respective Gram Panchayat. The activities to be carried out for creation of Amrit Sarovars are (a) Digging of soil from the identified site, (b) Dumping of the excavated soil at National Highway site, (c) Creation of channels for movement of water towards the Sarovars, and (d) Plantation around the Sarovar.
