Module Description: This module of competency specifies the outcomes required collecting and
setting out basic surveying data using GNSS and to be able to use suitable software to communicate with
a GPS receiver. It requires the ability to combine technical application in a team environment with sound
communication skills and It requires the ability to plan and execute the collection and set out operation, in
a team environment, often in the lead role.
Training Outcomes
At the end of the module the trainee will be able to attain the following training objectives:

associated with the acquisition of materials and labor on building and construction sites together
with the application of relevant overhead costs and margins.
This modulesupports the needs of estimators, builders, managers and trade contractors within the
construction industry who have a responsibility for producing estimated costs for labor, materials,
overheads and on-costs on various residential and commercial construction projects within their
scope of work as a trade contractor or builder.
