 We can Plan Our Week Effectively by using the five of Carroll’s tips for planning your week effectively:

1. Take a mental inventory.

 "Taking inventory" means to make a list with a count of all the relevant items
 To take a "mental inventory" is to do the same thing, but entirely in your head: you don't write it down, you just make sure to
remember it. Write it all down

2. Time Blocking.
 Time blocking is a time management technique that involves dividing a day into time blocks and assigning tasks and activities to
them.

How to block Time Effectively

a. Start by listing your tasks and how long you will need to work on them.

b. Identify which tasks will be your priority by sorting them from the most important to the least important, keeping in mind how
much time they will take. You should also consider if one task impacts the other and work on them in the correct order. Time
blocking is a method where you set aside a certain amount of time to work on a task.
So for example, instead of your to-do list saying:
o Clean Room
o Devotion
o Respond to Emails/Check ICP portal
You would set up your to-do list like this
 8:00 am – 2:30 am: Clean Room
 8:30 am – 9:00 am: Devotion
 9:00 am – 9:15am: Respond to Emails/Check ICP portal

Notice:
 Using a 4-quadrants matrix, we will categorize our priorities or tasks based on four possibilities of the urgency and importance
of a task

Quadrant I: Urgent and important (tasks you will do immediately)

Quadrant II: Important, but not urgent (tasks you will schedule to do later)
Quadrant III: Urgent, but not important (tasks you will delegate to someone else)
Quadrant IV: Neither urgent nor important (tasks that you will eliminate)
 Applying this matrix to your daily life and routine involves self-assessment and specificity. Here are some steps that may help you
navigate this technique
1. List the tasks you need to complete
2. Include deadlines
3. Identify the most urgent tasks
4. Organize by importance
5. Place tasks in the correct quadrant
6. Assess your productivity
Quadrant I: Urgent and important Quadrant II: Important, but not urgent

 Critical & do now  Critical but do later

 Do first (do soon)
 Tasks that you will do  Schedule
immediately  Tasks you schedule to do later
Quadrant III: Urgent, but not important Quadrant IV: Neither urgent nor important
 Not critical but do now  Uncategorized
(delegate) (delete or move)
 Tasks you will spend less time with &  Tasks that you will eliminate
delegate to someone else

3. Morning Reflection.
 Only about five to fifteen minutes. But it can set your day up for massive success.
 Take a few moments to sit down for a reflection with your to-do list, or whatever you use.
 You can do this just as you’re sitting down at your desk.

4. Evening Reflection
 Where the morning reflection helps you kick start your day with the right attitude, the evening reflection helps you unwind and
unburden your mind.
 During your evening reflection, consider each task you completed during the day and ask yourself questions like:
 Why is this important?
 Why am I doing this?
 why is this a priority
 An evening reflection practice helps focus and clarify your priorities so you can plan accordingly.

5. Celebrate
 Our brains love dopamine. (Dopamine is known as the “feel-good” hormone. It gives you a sense of pleasure. It also gives you the
motivation to do something when you're feeling pleasure)
 So each time you cross something off your list, give yourself a high-five, a thumbs up, a big smile! Get up from your desk and do
a mezmur! Do a fist pump! Say “you got this!”
 Do whatever you need to do to make sure you properly celebrate.
