The Holy Rosary (by Brian James M.

Burton)

●Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was
buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose
again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated
at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he
will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

●Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy
kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

●Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art
thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.

●Glory be
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be world
without end. Amen.

●Hail, Holy Queen (The Salve Regina)

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness
and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of
Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show
unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O
loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: O God, whose Only Begotten Son, by his life,
Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of
eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that while meditating on
these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin
Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what
they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

●Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it
known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy
help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired
by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,
my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and
sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my
petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

●Prayer to Saint Joseph

To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and
having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we
confidently invoke your patronage also. Through that charity
which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God
and through the paternal love with which you embraced the
Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the
inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood,
and with your power and strength to aid us in our
necessities. O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family,
defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving
father, ward off from us every contagion of error and
corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to
us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power
of darkness. As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly
peril, so now protect God's Holy Church from the snares of
the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us
by your constant protection, so that, supported by your
example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die
in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.
Amen.

The Magnificat
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit
rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on his
lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me
blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy
is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every
generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has
scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the
mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has
filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent
away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel for
he has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he
made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it
was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen

●Angelus
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.

R. Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary...

V. And the Word was made flesh.

R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...

Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our
hearts; that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, thy Son,
was made known by the message of an angel, may by his
Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his
Resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

●Regina Caeli
Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
The Son whom you merited to bear, alleluia,
has risen as he said, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia!
For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Let us pray
O God, who through the resurrection of your Son, our Lord
Jesus Christ, did vouchsafe to give joy to the world; grant, we
beseech you, that through his Mother, the Virgin Mary, we
may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same
Christ our Lord.
Amen.
