Mode Keys

SYSTEM Sets system or global parameters for the unit (SHIFT key must be pressed to enter this mode)
Examples - trigger polarity, GTO, units
OPTIONS Sets program parameters
Examples - pattern type and line speed

SAVE Saves a program permanently

PATTERN Sets and modifies pattern lengths and offsets

USE Loads a program from permanent memory

MONITOR Displays real-time system status


Examples - product counts, trigger status

PURGE Purges or opens any or all of the guns manually

Program: Run, Use, and Save


RUN SAVE

Starts and stops pattern generation Saves the program permanently to location #1-25
1. Select program number to use (use the navigation keys to
find the desired program).
2. Press ENTER to save.
USE
Note: Any data previously saved to that program
number is overwritten.
Loads program #1-25 (becomes active)
1. Select program number to use (use the navigation keys to find
the desired program).
2. Press ENTER to activate.

Note: If the current program is modified (#--), the changes will


be lost once another program is selected. page 3

Offset - X (up to 8 beads)
NORMAL Offset - 2
Offset - 1

Normal places the pattern on the leading

Stitched Bead places the pattern on the Length-X Length-2 Length-1

leading edge of the product only.

Random Length places the pattern on the leading


edge and a mirror image on the trailing side. Length-1 Length-X Length-X Length-1
*GTO must be set to ensure correct operation in random length.

Gun Purge and Monitor Operation
Purge Monitor

System must be stopped before guns can be purged. If remote Trig1 Status Off No product under photoeye
inputs are used (either mode), the system must also be enabled. Trig2 Status On Product under photoeye
Trig3 Status

Note: If one or more triggers work in an opposite manner of the above

Note: Changes to pattern may be made when EPC-15 pattern control is running or stopped.
See the Pattern Types section on page 4 for pattern examples.

Add a Bead to a Pattern Delete a Bead

Program Option Settings

Normal Pattern generation on leading edge of product only.


Pattern Type
Stitch (Stitch) Pattern generation on leading edge of product only. Select Interval
(distance from the start of one sub-bead to the next) or Glue (percentage of
glue saved (0-99%)
RndLen (Random Length) Pattern generation on both edges of product.

Trig1 Min Distance to ignore new triggers after one product has passed.
Trig2 Min
Trig3 Min

*Speed (m/min) or Speed of production line.


Speed (ft/min) Enter speed here if line speed is known or go to Auto Scale.

*Auto Scale Process to determine the line speed given a known product length.
Stop the unit.

On Turn option on and press .

Prod Length Enter product length to be seen by trigger #1 and press .

Waiting for Product Pass product under trigger at normal operating line speed, then new speed displays.

*Not available if unit (of measure) equals Time.

Defaults appear in blue

Language English French, German, Italian, Spanish (others may be available)

Auto Start Off After power up, press RUN to start pattern generation.
On After power up, unit automatically starts pattern generation.

Units Time Time - uses milliseconds for all units within system.
Met Metric - uses millimeters for distance and m/min for production line speed.
Eng English - uses inches for distance and ft/min for production line speed.

Input Mode Off Remote inputs unused.


Recall Remote inputs are the recall numbers to use (0 = disable, 1-7 = run program).
Enable One remote input for enable, disable, and lockout.

Trig1 Pol Trigger Polarity


Trig2 Pol N. O. Trigger normally open.
Trig3 Pol N. C. Trigger normally closed.

Gun1 GTO Gun to trigger offset - distances from trigger to gun.


Gun2 GTO
Gun3 GTO Note: This setting is optional unless the pattern type is random length.
