Overrall , its is clear that while the number of workers traveling
every day by car and train incresed , the figure for bus users saw an
opposite patern. Furthermore , the car is the most popular compare to
other mean of transport.
Look at the graph for the period from 1970 to 2000, the number
of people driving to work in the UK. starting at about 5 million people,
which is the highest among all 3 groups. Meanwhile, those who go to
work by bus are twice as many as those people taking train to work in
the UK, with only 2 million people. 30 years later, the number of UK car
commuters has increased dramatically from 5 million to approximately 7
million. Likewise, the year 2000 saw a steady increase to exactly 3
million people working on trains in the UK. On the contrary, the number
of people taking the bus to work tends to decrease slightly.
In the second half of the chart, by 2030, the number of UK
commuters traveling by car is expected to increase to almost 9 million.
Along with that, the number of daily train passengers is also expected to
increase to about 5 million also in 2030. However, the trend of bus
usage continued to decline slightly since 2000 and decreased to 2 million
people by 2030.
