UNIT 5: CELEBRATIONS GRAMMAR: Relative Pronouns A relative pronoun is used to refer to nouns mentioned previously, whether they are people, things, animals, places or possessions. Relative pronouns can be used to join two sentences. • The boy is wearing a blue swimsuit. The boy is my cousin Amine. • The boy who/that is wearing a blue swimsuit is my cousin Amine.
• My room had a balcony. The balcony looked on the sea.
