Directions: Find an article from an online news source. Read the

about important issues in our world today, but you must be able
to connect the topic of the article to what we are learning about
in class. Because this is a current events assignment you are to

holiday named after them. Christopher Columbus shouldn’t get a
holiday, the people who were already there should.

This article is directly related to what we are doing in class
because we are talking about the historical illusions of Columbus
Day. This article sums up what we are doing in class very quickly
