PAYMENT INFORMATION SHEET

How do I make a payment?

Online payment is the quickest and easiest way to pay your deposit, and tuition fees. If you choose to
pay online you will receive a receipt instantly to inform you that payment has been made. For all
other methods of payments, please check with your bank to see when the funds are transferred.

The fastest way to pay is by logging into the Applicant Portal which will allow you to pay by credit or
debit card via WPM or by international or domestic bank transfer via Flywire.

GCU accepts all major credit and debit cards online.

Flywire

GCU has partnered with Flywire to accept bank transfer payments from students. Flywire enables
you to make payments easily and securely in your own currency using a variety of local payment
methods, including online banking and bank transfers. The available payment methods depend on
the country you are paying from. This is the preferred and quickest method of making a payment to
the University.

More information about making a payment can be found on our website at

https://www.gcu.ac.uk/study/tuitionfees/howtopay

Please do not send cash through the post.

Does my deposit count as advance payment towards my fees?

Yes, we will confirm in your CAS statement that you have paid £6000 in advance towards your total
tuition fees due.

When do I have to pay?

Please see our Application Deadline page for details of the deposit payment deadline.

Can I pay more than £6000 towards my tuition fees?

Yes, you can make payment of higher amounts towards your tuition fees using any of the payment
methods we accept. The full amount received will be shown on your CAS statement.

I am a sponsored by my government. Do I have to pay a deposit?

No, please upload a copy of your sponsor letter within the My Finance tab of your Applicant Portal.
Your sponsor letter should be on the organisation’s letter-headed paper, bear their official stamp and
be dated. It should include your name, Student ID number, programme of study, the name and
contact details of the official financial sponsor, confirmation of the value of fees being paid and, if
applicable, the monthly allowance you will be paid by your sponsor.

I have made my payment. What are the next steps?

Once your payment has been received in the university bank account, we will issue your CAS Data
Check as soon as possible. Further guidance will be provided on how to pay the Immigration Health
Surcharge and apply for your visa along with your CAS Data Check.

What is the Immigration Health Surcharge?

You are required to pay a healthcare surcharge as part of your immigration application if you are
applying for a visa to study in the UK. Using the information provided in your CAS Data Check, the IHS
calculator will work out the amount you will be required to pay upfront for every year of study in the
United Kingdom.

I have received my CAS Statement but now wish to make an additional payment.

If you intend to make further payment please do not use your CAS until payment has cleared and you
have been advised to do so by GCU Admissions staff. You can make further payments using any of the
payment methods noted above.

Do I get a refund if I don’t register?

A refund (less a £150 administration fee) can only be considered in the event that you have applied
for a visa to study at GCU and this has been refused by UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI). We will not
refund the deposit if your visa application was declined on the grounds of the submission of falsified
documentation or undeclared criminal convictions. You will not be given a refund if you decide on
entry to the UK that you no longer wish to study at this University.

All refund requests must be received within 90 days of the visa refusal notice and should be sent via
email to [email protected].

We will refund in full any tuition fee payments received over and above the £6000 minimum non-
refundable deposit. For full information on our deposit and refund policy please see:
