ACT 1(Scene 1: The House)

Bolu, Iya Bolu, Baba Bolu is seated at the dining table, eating breakfast

quietly, talking about the economy and Bolu's scholarship.

Iya Bolu: Lola abeg come and help me to get water in the kitchen

Lola: okay maami

Baba Bolu:(Baba coughs)Iyawomi where is my daughter's letter?

Iya Bolu: Baba, which letter sir?

Bolu: Baba mi,(She paused in excitement)Is it the scholarship letter sir?

Baba Bolu: Yes nau, What else will i be talking about?

Iya Bolu: Oya, Bolu go and get it in your father's office bag.

(Bolu immediately goes to her father's room)

(SCENE 2: THE LIVINGROOM)

Iya Bolu: Bolu oya nah , we've been waiting for you. Come out now o!

Bolu:(screaming from inside) MA!

Baba Bolu: (He stretched out his hand to collect the paper from bolu)Ehen! Let me

even see what my daughter scored.

Iya Bolu: I trust her that she did well. Abi Bolu? I dey lie?

Bolu: No ma

Baba Bolu: (He opens the script in amazement) Ahan! Bolu Aderioye, you are true

daughter of your father

Iya bolu: Baba, what is it sir?

(The whole family kneels down and thanks GOD)

(SCENE 3: PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE)

Iya bolu: Thank you sir, We really appreciate sir. Ah, truly when we saw it we were

amazed.

Bolu: Yes sir we appreciate sir , thank you so much. So sir that means, my parents

won't pay anything?

Principal: Yes dear. You truly are a smart girl, Bolu. Keep it up. Don't let

distractions come your way oh. So' ti gbo?

Bolu: Yes sir, Okay sir.

(SCENE 4: RECEPTION)

Iya Bolu: Bolu, listen to the words of your father oh!. Don't make him drive you away

Bolu: Yes maami, I will be on my best behaviour.

Bolu: Yes ma, I will ma.

(SCENE 5: THE CLASSROOM)

The teacher enters the class, making sure everyone is around)

Teacher 1: Everybody please settle down. Class needs to be clean.

Bolanle: Hello!(She says as she sees the new student-Bolu)

Bolu: Oh, hey!. I'm Bolu, and you?

Bolanle: Bolanle, and i'm good. Wait i know someone named 'Bolu'. Are you urm Bolu

Aderioye?

Bolu: Yes nah. Ahan you know keh?

Bolanle: Yes nah. We attented the same secondary school before , then i left and came

here in SS1.

Bolu: Queens College?

Bolanle: Yes nah.(The teacher enters)

(SCENE 6: WAITING ROOM)

Joshua: Hello Bolu?

Bolu: Yes, you are?

Joshua; I'm Joshua, and i've been seeing you around. Can we be friends?

Bolu: Sure, why not?

Joshua: You look good by the way.

Bolu: Thank you so much.

ACT 2(SCENE 1: THE DINING)

Bolu starts serving the food for her parents to eat as they settle down

Iya Bolu: How are you Bolu? Hope you slept well?

Bolu: Yes maami

Baba Bolu: How was school yesterday?

Bolu: Sir, school was fine. I even met someone from my former school.
Iya Bolu: You see, God had already destined you to meet good people at that school.

What is the girls name?

Bolu: Bolanle

Iya Bolu: Oya start going to school. Don't forget all i said yesterday.

Bolu: Yes maami

(SCENE 2:SCHOOL)

Joshua: Hey! Bolu wait nah

Bolanle:(Walking towards Bolu)Bolu!

Joshua: Bolu(panting)...how was your night? You didn't give me your number yesterday

(She drags Bolu away and hisses)

(SCENE 3:CLASSROOM)

Chidera: Bolanle!, how are you?

Bolanle: I'm good, you?

Chidera: I'm good o. How come i didn't see this girl before. She's fine o

Bolu: Thank you. You're fine yourself

Chidera: Ah! Don't whine me. I'm Chidera

Bolu: Lol, I'm Bolu

Chidera: I'm sure Bolanle didn't tell you about me

Bolanle; I'm sorry my love. So, Chidera is my bestfriend.

Bolu: Hm..i can see.

(The teacher enters)

(SCENE 4:BREAK TIME)

Ms.Dorcas: Bolu!, you're needed in my office

Bolanle: Ma, she's not here. She's with Joshua ma.

Chidera: I know where she is ma. I will go and call her.

Ms.Dorcas: Okay, please do go and call her. She's really needed.

Bolanle: Okay ma, yes ma.

(Chidera goes to the libary to call Bolu)

Chidera: Bolu oh!

Bolu:(whispers)Someone is coming

Joshua: shh!

Bolu:(Quickly wears her cloth)Yes, who is calling me?

Chidera: It is I oh! Chidera. Ms.Dorcas is calling you

Bolu: Okay i'm coming

(SCENE 5:STAFF ROOM)

Ms.Dorcas: Bolu, ehn where have you been?

Bolu: Oh, ma i was in the libary

Ms.Lauren: Bolu, Dorcas and i really want to advise you

Bolu: oh okay ma

Ms.Dorcas: So, we've noticed that you now follow that Joshua boy. And he is not a good

influence on you.

Ms.Lauren: Please, do stay away from him

Bolu: Yes ma. I've heard ma, I will stay away from him.

(Bolu walks away)

(SCENE 6:WAITING ROOM)

Bolanle: Bolu, i want to tell you something

Bolu: Yes, what's that?

Chidera: Yes,we both want to talk to you.

Bolu: Is it about Joshua?

Bolanle&Chidera: Yes oh!Give us your number, so that we'll chat you about it.

Act 3(SCENE 1:CLASSROOM)

Simi wants to become Bolu's, while Bolanle doesn't want to both of them to be friends)

(Ms.Dorcas enters to teach)

(SCENE 2: BREAKTIME)

Simi and Aishat are walking toward Bolu and Joshua, as they are talking and eating

Joshua: Ah Simi howfar?

Simi: I'm good , you?. Don't worry sef you look good and happy. Are the both of you

together?

Bolu: Ahan, No. We're just friend(she says as she blushes).

Joshua: Friends keh? No, she's joking. I love her and she loves me too

Aishat: Nawa for love oh. Us wey no get love. God abeg

Aishat: Ehen, Bolu are still coming for the party?It's going to be mad

Joshua: Is it the 24th street motive?

Simi: Yes

Joshua: Bolu, please come nau. I'm goig to be there. You know that you are my babe.

(He continues to beg Bolu, to come with him to the party)

(SCENE 3:MATH CLASS)

Ms.Lauren: Okay, everyone open your textbook we are having a test

(All the children shouted:HEI!)

Ms.Lauren: Will you all keep shut!

Bolanle: Ma, don't worry we will write it. Atleast some of us we read our books and

pay attention

Simi: Abegi. SHUTUP! Did she ask you?

Joshua: Abi. Ma abeg give us till thursday

Aishat: Yes ma, abeg

Ms.Lauren: Oya oh, bring out a sheet of paper

(she starts to dictate their test to them)

Simi:(whispering to Bolu)Bolu abeg no 2a. Show me your paper abeg

Bolu:(whispering)Ah what if Ms.Lauren sees me?

Aishat: She won't see you walai

(later Ms.Lauren nabbed Bolu only and she got into trouble)

(SCENE 4:HOME)

Bolu's at home reading in the siting room. When Simi called Bolu about the party

Simi: Hello, how are you?

Bolu: I'm good, you?

Simi: Me i sha called to ask about the party

Bolu: Oh i don't know if i'm going oh

Simi: It's happening now o

Bolu: Okay, i'll come. I just have to lie to my parents

Simi: I'm coming to your house now

(SCENE 5:THE PARTY)

Simi and Bolu reach the venue and immediately they sight Joshua

Joshua: Babe, let's go. I have a place where we can go

Aishat: Nawa oh

Simi: Aishat, let us go and find our own

(there in the party Joshua and Bolu go to a room where only the both of them are)

Bolu: Where are we? I didn't know we were coming to a private room. Cause i was told
 that we came to party.

Joshua: Yeah, but i want us to be alone. Bolu, i love you walai. I've been wanting to

tell you but i didn't have courage. Bolu, believe me.

Bolu: Joshua...i love you too. But...

Joshua: But what?

Bolu: But...people have been telling me to stay away from you that is why i don't

think we can be together. I actually like you frl

(in his mind Joshua is plotting his plan to rape her while he is laughing)

Bolu: Joshua i love you too i swear, like it's much

Joshua: So? what's your answer. Will you be with me?

(Advances to hold her waist)

Bolu: Jo--shu--a, i don't like people touching me. My mom won't be happy if she knows

Joshua: Do it for me nah, please

Bolu: Okay, whatever you want. I will do anything for you

(SCENE 6:THE ROOM)

Joshua is dressing up, while Bolu is sleeping.

Bolu:(opened her eyes) Joshua, are you going?Joshua: See better don't tell anyone about it. okay?

Bolu: Yes, love. I love you

Joshua: I-(he laughs)love you too

(they kiss and hug)

(BACK IN HER HOUSE)

After 2 months Joshua and Bolu didn't talk and she was found sick. Bolu's parents are
worried about her.

Iya Bolu: Oko mi, let's take her to the hospital

Baba Bolu: No. Let's take her to church

Iya Bolu: Baba Bolu, let's take her to the hospital first then the church

Baba Bolu; Oya , fast fast

(Bolu is weak and she coughs)

They get to the Hospital and they tell Mr and Mrs. Aderioye that their daughter is

pregnant

Baba Bolu: Preg-- what?

Iya Bolu: LIES! THEY ARE ALL LIES! How can you tell me that rubbish ehn?

Mrs.Elizabeth: It is true sir. She is pregnant. I can show you the test sir.
