Micro-Project Report

Title of Micro-Project: Model on Electricity generation from Solar panel

1.0 Rationale: Chemical technologists have to deal with various process and operations which deals with
various sources of energy to be used to carried out the process. As there is limitations to non renewable
energy sources in the universe the alternative is only renewable energy. This course will give knowledge of
technologies related to renewable energy like wind, solar, biomass and fuel cell where chemical engineering
principles and products will be applicable.

2.0. Aims /Benefits of the Micro Project:- Use renewable energy technologies as applicable in chemical
industry.

3.0 Course Outcomes Achieved:- Use solar power technologies wherever feasible.

4.0 Literature Review:- Electricity generation from solar panels involves converting sunlight into electrical
energy using photovoltaic (PV) cells. This renewable energy source is increasingly popular due to its low
environmental impact, scalability, and declining costs. Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into
direct current (DC) electricity, which is then transformed into alternating current (AC) via inverters for use
in homes or the grid. Key challenges include efficiency limitations, weather dependence, and land use.
However, advancements in PV technology, energy storage solutions, and government incentives are driving
the expansion of solar energy in global electricity generation.
