A RESOLUTION URGING THE 7TH SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN COUNCILS AND


THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMITTEES TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AND
ACTIVITIES FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2025.

WHEREAS, Sec. 2, Chapter I of Republic Act 10742 it states that, The State recognizes the
vital role of the youth in nation-building .and thus, promotes and protects their physical, moral,
spiritual, intellectual and social well-being, inculcates in them patriotism, nationalism and other
desirable values, and encourages their involvement in public and civic affairs. Towards this end,
the State shall establish adequate, effective, responsive and enabling mechanisms and support
systems that will ensure the meaningful participation of the youth in local governance and
nation-building;

WHEREAS, under the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 (Republic Act No. 10742),
the SK is mandated to formulate and implement plans and programs that promote the welfare of
the youth within their respective barangays;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) plays a crucial role in local governance by
representing the youth and ensuring their active participation in community development through
various programs, projects, and activities (PPAs);

WHEREAS, it is essential that the 7th Sangguniang Kabataan Councils and their respective
committees ensure the timely preparation and submission of their proposed Programs, Projects,
and Activities (PPAs) for the Calendar Year 2025 to facilitate the proper planning, funding,
and implementation of youth development initiatives;

WHEREAS, providing the necessary PPAs for 2025 will allow the SK Councils to effectively
address the needs and concerns of the youth, foster leadership, and contribute to the overall
progress and development of their communities;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod


of General Santos City, to urge the 7th Sangguniang Kabataan Councils and their respective
committees to diligently prepare and submit their Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) for
Calendar Year 2025, in line with their commitment to serve the youth and their respective
communities.

Adopted this 27th day of September, 2024, at the Barangay Hall of Dadiangas East, General
Santos City, Philippines.
