Application of Integral Calculus
1. A curve passing through (2, -1) has a slope of 8x3 + 6x – 8 at any point
(x,y). What is the equation of the curve?
2. The motion of a particle moving in space from t = 0 to t = 4 seconds is
defined by the following velocities where v is in meters per second.
vx = 2t2; vy = 4 - t2; vz = 8t
a) What is the velocity of the particle after 4 seconds in m/s?
b) What is the acceleration of the particle after 4 seconds in m/s2?
c) What is the total distance travelled by the particle after 4 seconds in m?

4. Find the length of the arc x2 + y2 = 64 from x = -1 to x = -3, in the

the following:
a) The points of intersection of the parabola and line
b) The area bounded by the parabola and line

meters above the top, the water content of a full tank in the form of
a paraboloid of revolution (defined by revolving the parabola x2 = 4y
about the y-axis) whose altitude is 4 meters.
9. Evaluate the integral of (3x2 + 9y2) dx dy if the interior limit has an
upper limit of y and a lower limit of zero, and whose outer limit has
an upper limit of 2 and lower limit of 0.
10. Determine the lateral area of a cone having an altitude of 10m and
top radius of 4 10m.
