1:- Introduction:- Climate Change in China

The climatic change has become a global concern over the last few decades. Besides, these
climatic changes affect life on the earth in various ways. These climatic changes are having
various impacts on the ecosystem and ecology.
When Did it Start?
The climate started changing a long time ago due to human activities but we came to know
about it in the last century. During the last century, we started noticing the climatic change and
its effect on human life. We started researching on climate change and came to know that the
earth temperature is rising due to a phenomenon called the greenhouse effect.
 Natural Reasons:-
These include volcanic eruption, solar radiation, tectonic plate movement, orbital variations.
Due to these activities, the geographical condition of an area become quite harmful for life to
survive.
 Manmade:-
Man due to his need and greed has done many activities that not only harm the environment
but himself too.Human activities that harm the climate include deforestation, using fossil fuel,
industrial waste, a different type of pollution and many more. All these things damage the
climate and ecosystem very badly.
 Effects Of Climatic Change
These climatic changes have a negative impact on the environment. The ocean level is rising,
glaciers are melting, CO2 in the air is increasing, forest and wildlife are declining, and water life
is also getting disturbed due to climatic changes.

2:- Impacts on China:-

China is facing unprecedent challenges, given the increasingly severe situation of global
warming. China’s surface temperature has been rising by 0.9–1.5 degrees Celsius (°C) since
modern industrialization, and the frequency of extreme weather events related to rainfall has
formidably increased within the last 40 years, especially the imbalanced adverse effects across
regions, despite no statistically significant evidence on the change in precipitation. By the end
of this century, the average temperature in China is expected to rise by 3.9–6.0 °C and is likely
to be over 4 °C relative to preindustrial levels. The rainfall will increase by 9%–11%,
corresponding to a rise of sea level by 0.4–0.6 meters relative to the 20th century level. As a
result, climate damage in China may be more severe than the global average level, leading to a
2.8–5.7% of cumulative GDP loss.
The negative role of climate change in economic activities is manifested in many aspects, such
as agriculture, industry, ecological system and human health, and such impacts have long been
clearly declared in the previous integrated assessment report (AR). For example, AR4 states
that “global mean losses could be 1%–5% of GDP for 4 °C of warming. Much robust evidence
reveals that climate change may cause over 77% of the world’s countries to become poorer by
the end of this century if no substantial emission control actions are implemented. Affecting not
only the level of output, global warming also damages the economy’s ability to grow, and a 1 °C
rise in temperature may reduce economic growth by approximately 1.3%. For China, crop
damage associated with climate change during the last decade has reached 595–868 million US
dollars (USD); by 2100, the production of corn and soybean may decrease by 3%–12% and 7%–
19%, respectively.
3:- According to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report the country that will
pay the highest financial cost if the temperature continue to rise is China.
The impacts will include food insecurity, water scarcity, flooding, especially
in coastal areas where most of the population lives due to higher than
average sea level rise, and more powerful cyclones. At some point part of
the country can face wet-bulb temperatures higher than humans and other
mammals can tolerate more than six hours.[33]
AgricultureEdit
The negative effects on China's agriculture caused by climate change have
appeared. There was an increase in agricultural production instability, severe
damages caused by high temperature and drought, and lower production
and quality in the prairie. In the near future, climate change may cause
negative influences, causing a reduction of output in wheat, rice, and corn,
and change the agricultural distribution of production.

Fishing

Due to overfishing, pollution, global temperature increase, and change in pH

to the world’s oceans, the South China Sea is suffering from a lack in
biodiversity among marine life.

4:- Conclusion:- What will be Future?

If we do not do anything and things continue to go on like right now then a

day in future will come when humans will become extinct from the surface of
the earth. But instead of neglecting these problems we start acting on then
we can save the earth and our future. Although humans mistake has caused
great damage to the climate and ecosystem. But, it is not late to start again
and try to undo what we have done until now to damage the environment.
And if every human start contributing to the environment then we can be
sure of our existence in the future.
