Supervision Signal
• This is the signal extended by the PSTN Exchanges to inform
the Answer Status of the Called Party to CPE (PBX, PCO
Machines etc.)
• It is useful to get actual conversation duration which is
required for billing purpose of CPE
• ETERNITY can detect two types of Answer Signals
- Polarity Reversal
- 12/16 KHz*
• If this information is configured wrong then that calls will not
be matured/stored in SMDR Buffer
12/16 kHz is supported on old CMX based TWT Cards

TWT H/W Template :
Disconnect Tone Detection
• If Disconnection Signals are not available from PSTN
Exchanges, ETERNITY can disconnect the calls by detection of
Disconnect Tones available from the PSTN at the time of
Remote Party hangs-up
• Disconnect Tones consists of Cadences and Frequencies
• The Cadences are
- ON Time Cadence (Programmable)
- OFF Time Cadence (Programmable)
• The frequency ranges from 20-1400Hz (Programmable)
The frequency range is Auto Detect and not programmable in non DSP based
TWT Cards (275-665Hz)
TWT H/W Template :
Disconnect Tone Frequency

• The frequency is divided in to 2 Parts

- Frequency 1 (F1) : 300 to 1400Hz
- Frequency 2 (F2) : 20 to 1400Hz

Operator Flag Meaning

No Programmed Value of F1 will be
considered by the Disconnect frequency
* System will modulate F1 and F2 and
consider the result as a Disconnect Tone

TWT H/W Template :
Disconnect Tone Detection

• Disconnect Tone Detection can happen in 2 States

State Meaning
DID No dial State The External Caller calls in and doesn‟t dial
any valid DTMF digits and hangs up. During
the period after completion of DID beep Timer
system will start detecting the Disconnect Tone
OG Calls+ All call States In case of both incoming and OG calls system
other than “DID No will start detect the Disconnect Tone Detection
dial State” in all States (During Speech, Ringing, Busy
etc.)

In case of DSP based TWT card enabling the 2nd option can do all Disconnect
Tone Detection. In case of non DSP based TWT card both the options to be
enabled to detect the Disconnect Tone at all events
TWT H/W Template :

Enabling Disconnect Detection with wrong frequency value can cause

unwanted Call Disconnections
TWT H/W Template :
DID Disconnect Tone Detection Timer

• The Timer is significant only for the non DSP based card and
Disconnect Detection on DID No Dial State Flag is enabled
and caller doesn‟t dial any thing

• Programmable from 1-9 Seconds

• The Timer will be loaded after completion of DID No Dial

State or Completion of Beep Timer
TWT H/W Template :

TWT H/W Template :
Speech Delay Timer
• Some Old Telephone Exchange TWT lines will take 2-3 seconds
to detect “Loop Close” and feed delayed dial tone then after
• ETERNITY supports Speech Delay Timer in which the same
delay can be programmed
• This will help to avoid wrong number dialing on the TWT port

Program Speech
Connection Delay

TWT H/W Template :
Pause Timer
• When the System dials any number using “Store and Forward
Method including Trunk Access Codes” there may be a delay
required between TAC and Dialed Number
• Pause Timer helps to program that delay which results no
wrong number dialing

TWT H/W Template :
Ring Cadence Off Timer

• Programmable Timer to match the OFF time for Ring Cadence

with PSTN
• During the incoming call on TWT port, if CO gives Ring in
which Ring Off period is quite long, the system will consider that
ring is stopped, and hence the system stops ringing the SLT/DKP
ports but still the incoming call is present
• To avoid this happening it is necessary to match Ring Cadence
Off Timer of CO with PBX
