Research Assignment Plus Simulation:


Keeping in view the characteristics of the UK Constitution and the constitutional concepts
and institutions that you have studied, make a PowerPoint presentation addressing the
following questions. The groups are divided into labour and conservative parties for each
question. You would have to research the question (put it in ppt slides) and have a debate in
the simulation against each other from the perspective of both parties (for and against).
Both the parties depending on their stance and position on the issue can discuss the existing
state of the laws/policies and the way forward for improvement. While it is important to
remember which party is in government today, it is also important to know the parties'
stance regardless of whether they are in government or in opposition. It is also important to
remember that the present government was only formed this year after a 14-year-long run
of the party sitting in opposition today.
a) The significance of Scotland’s referendum for Independence. A wake-up call?
b) Refugee Policies in light of the UK’s Human Rights Obligations
c) The UK’s policies w.r.t the EU post-Brexit
d) The UK’s policy w.r.t the National Health Service in light of the right to health.
Important Instructions
1. Each group shall make a PPT presentation.
2. Each student is allowed a maximum of four slides in the PPT presentation.
3. Each student in the group should be assigned a particular portion/research area. The
contents of the PPT shall contain a list of students’ participation and contribution in
the research.
4. The students can use the space of four slides as per their preference of text,
graphics, short video clips etc. You can be innovative, but your slides should be
balanced in delivering relevant information and it should have a synergy with the
rest of the team’s work.
5. The title slide should clearly mention the title of the project, semester, students’
names and enrolment numbers.
6. The deadline for submission of PPT is 15th November 2024 and shall be followed
accordingly.
7. The research is to be presented through simulations and will have a maximum of 5
marks.
8. Be prepared to answer any question on the source of information in your PPT.
