Finishing
This hat was designed with no ease. To have a snug hat, go down

The ribbing will be worked with the bigger needle, and the
main body with the 2 sizes smaller needle. The main body stitch
pattern is quite loose, and using 2 different size needles will help
maintain gauge uniformity throughout your hat.

Using the long-tailed CO method, and larger needles, loosely CO


48 (56, 64, 72) sts. PM to mark beginning of round. Join in the
round, being careful not to twist sts.

Work 1 (1, 1.5, 2)” of 1x1 Ribbing.

Change to smaller needles and begin Bee Stitch pattern as


follows:
Set Up Round: Purl all sts, decreasing 8 sts evenly across round
using P2tog. 40 (48, 56, 64) sts.
Next Round: Begin working Bee Stitch pattern starting with
Round 2, using either the line-by-line instructions or chart. When
following the chart, read each row from right to left, repeating the
2 sts across the round.

Continue working Bee Stitch pattern until hat measures 4.5 (5,
6, 7)” from CO edge. End with a round 4, but on that fourth row,
place a stitch marker every 8 sts for all sizes.

Decreases
Round 1: (P6, P2tog) to end of round, slipping markers when you
come to them from here on. 35 (42, 49, 56) sts.
Round 2: *(K1, K1B) to last st before marker, K1, SM*. Repeat from
* to * to end of round.
Round 3: (P5, P2tog) to end of round. 30 (36, 42, 48) sts.
Round 4: (K1B, K1) to end of round.
Round 5: (P4, P2tog) to end of round. 25 (30, 35, 40) sts.
Round 6: Repeat Round 2.
Round 7: (P3, P2tog) to end of round. 20 (24, 28, 32) sts.
Round 8: Repeat Round 4.
