must/mustn’t, Recap of present continuous, action verbs what is/are…doing?,
Use like +gerund, use connectives and/or

Unit 2 - Families
Grammar - Use direct object pronouns: him/her, use adverbs of sequence: first,
next, the, after, finally, using past simple questions (was, were, did) , use from
to indicate origin, use could/couldn’t as past tense of can

AUGUST
Unit 3 - The Desert
Grammar - Use comparative and superlative adjectives, use past simple: regular
and irregular verbs, ‘Wh’ questions (Why did, How did, What did, where did?),
Use present simple pronouns

SEPTEMBER
Unit 4 – Look Again
Grammar - Use direct object pronouns (him, her, it, them, me), use adverb ‘too’
to add information, use adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often,
sometimes, never), revision of use of question marks & imperatives

OCTOBER
Unit 5 – Inventions
Grammar - Use common verbs followed by infinitive (I hope to invent/find...
etc. I avoid using….), use by and with to indicate agent and instrument, use
question words and structures to ask questions, use connectives (e.g. because) to
give reasons

NOVEMBER
Unit 6 – Dinosaurs
Grammar - Past Simple-use could as a past form of can, use quantifiers (some,
all, many, a lot of), revision of past tense, modal form of can, like + infinitive,
use of comparative and superlatives to describe things

DECEMBER
Unit 7- Puzzles and Codes
Grammar - Adjective order, use present perfect (including irregular past
participles), use indirect object pronouns: her, him, them, me
JANUARY
Unit 8 - My Amazing Body
Grammar - Use demonstrative pronouns: this/that, these/those, use ‘will’ to
express future intention

FEBRUARY

Grammar - Revision of comparative and superlative adjectives, use nouns
including uncountable nouns as direct and indirect objects, use will for
prediction about the future, use sequencing words: first, then, next, finally
