Simple Machines- tools that help us to perform work with less effort or to make tasks easier.
Energy Transformation- is like a magic trick where energy changes its form without disappearing. It’s
the process of converting energy from one type of another.
Main types of simple machine
 Screw
 Lever
 Wheel and axle Pulley
 Wedge
 Ramp
 Pulley
These machines change the amount of effort we need to apply.

For example, wheelchair is a type of wheel and axle. The wheel and axle system transforms the effort
into a different force, allowing for easier movement like a wheelchair and this is how the transformation of
energy happens.

D. Enrichment
Simple Machine Challenge
Students will work in a small groups to design and build a simple machine that demonstrates an
energy transformation. Through this hands on activities, they will recognize how energy
transform.

E. Generalization
- Simple machines makes work easier which allow us to use less force or effort to accomplish task.
- Simple machines are essential tools that help us do work by changing the way we use energy.
- Understanding energy transformation is crucial for understanding how simple machines work and
how they impact our daily lives.

Simple Machine Energy transformation flip book!!

Each students will create flip book illustrating energy transformations in a simple machine.

V. EVALUATION
Instruction: Identify which type of of simple machine is being illustrate.

1. Pushing a toy car up a ramp.


2. Using a crowbar to pry open a stuck lid. You apply force to crowbar and it uses that force to lift the
lid.
3. Using a pulley to lift a flag up a flagpole. Pulling down on the rope makes the flag go up.
4. Riding a bicycle, you turn the pedals and axle makes the wheels spin.
5. Using an axe to split the wood.

VI. ASSIGNMENT
For your assignment, explain how simple machines are used in everyday life and how energy
transformation make them work.
