NUMBER MS 3065/01
ROOM: 18

DEPARTMENT Mathematics
YEAR: 2024-2025

COURSE DESCRIPTION The Grade 8 MS Mathematics course is designed to provide students with a
solid understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts.

The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and

real-world applications.

Students will explore various topics, including integers, integer exponents,

rational and irrational numbers, algebraic expressions, linear equations
and relationships, ratios, rates and percent, geometry, data handling and
statistics.
LEARNING GOALS 1. Problem Solving: Students will apply a wide variety of
mathematical concepts, processes, and skills to solve a
broad range of problems in various content areas and
everyday situations.
2. Mathematical Reasoning: Students will apply mathematics
reasoning skills to investigate, evaluate, justify, and connect
approaches and solutions to situations in mathematics and
in other disciplines.
3. Mathematical Connections: Students will recognize and use
connections among mathematical ideas; understand how
mathematical ideas interconnect and build on one another;
recognize and apply mathematics in contexts outside the area of
mathematics.
4. Communication and Representation: Students will organize their
thinking through coherent communication, analyze and evaluate
the thinking and strategies of others and use the language of
mathematics to express mathematical ideas precisely. Students will
create and use representations to organize, record and
communicate mathematical ideas; select and apply among
representations to solve problems, and use to model and interpret
real world phenomena.
