A P P L I C AT I O N S A N D A D M I S S I O N R E Q U I R E M E N TS
For post-matric programmes applicants must have passed Grade 12 / N3 / Level
4 or an equivalent qualification. Use June and September results for early
applications. For Engineering Studies, matriculants should have passed an
appropriate technical subject. For admission to the pre-matric programmes a
minimum of a Grade 9 certificate is required.

Foreign students must have their certificates evaluated by SAQA. They must
have a valid study permit until the end of the relevant study period. Certificates
can be evaluated by SAQA: Postnet Suite 248 / Private Bag X06, Waterkloof,
0145, or visit their website www.saqa.org.za

CO U R S E F E E S

Northlink College prescribes course (study) fees which are determined prior to
the beginning of each academic year. All fees must be paid in full before a
student can be granted permission to write a national examination.

D H E T T V E T CO L L E G E B U R S A RY
In order to be eligible to apply for the DHET College bursary, a student
must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Only South African Citizens are eligible for this bursary scheme;
• A student must be registered or intending to register for a NC(V) or Report
191 programme (N1 to N6);
• Financially needy students with evidence of good academic potential;
• Evidence of good academic performance should be provided for all levels.

DHET TVET College Bursary Scheme: (All bursary applications are subject
to approval.) This is a bursary (not a loan) and students do not have to pay
it back.

E VA LUAT I O N A N D E X AM I N AT I O N
Programmes are theoretically assessed by means of tests and
assignments. Since practical competency is continually evaluated, 100%
class attendance is compulsory. A theoretical examination takes place in
June and November for Business & General Studies and at the end of each
trimester for Engineering Studies. Practical evaluation is done throughout
the course. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that he / she is
registered for the National examinations and for the correct subjects. A
minimum year mark is required to enter for the National examinations as
well as 80% class attendance.

For NC(V) there are National examinations in October/November with a


minimum continuous assessment mark -ICASS and a practical assessment
mark (ISAT), to gain entry into the exam

S P O RT
Social and professional club sports include: soccer, rugby, athletics,
cricket, hockey and netball.

GENERAL

• Full-time lectures are offered from approximately 08:00 – 17:00


• Part-time classes are offered from approximately 17:30 – 21:00
(Monday - Friday)
• Board and lodging is available in the men’s and ladies’ residences.
• Classes are offered in English and Afrikaans (student numbers determine)
(Monday - Friday)
• Open Learning Centres, Cafeterias, Restaurants, Internet facilities, Media
Centres, Social activities, Student Councils and sport facilities are
available to full-time and part-time students
• Career guidance and aptitude tests are available on request
