VOCABULARY: EXPRESSIONS:

LANGUAGE STRUCTURES

1. Subject + Be-verb + passionate about + NOUN/VERB – ing (GERUND )


2. Subject + Be-verb + interested in + verb-ing/ NOUN
3. Subject + want to /would like to sign up for + NOUN
4. Subject + do well in + NOUN / VERB-ing
5. Some of my friends told me that I have a knack for + NOUN

the lists of things I want to try.

Example:

7. Can you think of any hobbies which can cost an arm and a leg?
8. Are there any hobbies that you think are not worthwhile?
9. How important is it to encourage children to take up hobbies?
10.How are hobbies now different from hobbies in the past?

• ACTIVITY 2: MAKE ASSUMPTIONS


Choose someone from your group and make a guess about his/her
hobbies. Then, confirm your guess by asking a question.
THE QUESTION MUST NOT BE ANSWERABLE BY YES OR NO.
• ACTIVITY 3: GUESS THE ACTIVITY
Think of any leisure activity.
Give some clues to describe it.
Pick 1 of your classmates. The nominated classmate will now guess the
name of the activity and provide reasons for their answers.
• ACTIVITY 4 : PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS.
Pick a number and read the statement. Then, give your personal
opinion about the statement. You have 1 to 2 minutes to explain your
stand.
