Written Task: 20 min.
 Ask children to complete worksheet # 1. 8 min.
Conclusion: Total
 Randomly ask children to tell about tens and ones. 60 min

Group Activity:
1. Divide the class into groups of 4.
2. Hand out a bunch of ice cream sticks or craft sticks (whichever is easily available) and
rubber bands to each group. 20 min.
3. Ask the children to bundle five sets of 10 sticks with rubber bands. The students will
need extra sticks to use as ‘ones’ place values.
4. Call out a number and ask the students to demonstrate its place values by grouping the
sticks. For e.g. if the number is 36, each student should have three bundles of 10 sticks
and six single sticks on the desk.
5. Practice with different numbers and place values.
Written Task: Discover
 Ask the children to count how many tens and ones and write the correct number on page Maths
