Fixing

1. INTRODUCTION:

This SOP describes the outline procedure to be followed for fixing / erection of precast
compound wall at Proposed Project Construction Of 25,000 MT Silo Complex And Allied
Facilities,Farrukhabad(U.P.).
.

2. SCOPE OF WORK:

The scope of work involves the construction of precast compound wall as per drawing.

3. REFERENCES AND STANDARD:

This document should be read in conjunction with technical specification /


Manufacturer data sheet and latest GFC drawings issued from (ALL) for execution of
work at site.

4. WORK PROGRAMME:

The precast compound wall fixing works shall be carried out in accordance with the
submitted program to (ALL)

5. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Frontline responsibility – Site Engineer / Construction Manager (Contractor)


Safety Supervison – Safety supervisor / Officer (Contractor)
Quality inspection – QA QC Engineer / Manager (Contractor)
Overall responsiblity – Site Incharge / Project Manager (Contractor)

6. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT:


1. Precast pre stressed Concrete panel
2. Precast prestressed Concrete column
3. F-15 Crane / mobile crane, If needed
4. Safety PPE

Fixing

7. PROCEDURE:

Site the poles can be erected on footing or on pile foundation depending on the type
of soil and water table. Prior to erection the Site Safety Officer shall inspect the Mobile
Crane work area including its setting up and duly sign off the area for erection.
After inspection of the work area, a sequence of onsite installation shall be agreed with
the Contractor. This includes the site access route and the mobile crane capacity.

Lifting of column / Panel:


Lifting of column / panel will be done with the help of crane either from ground or from
trailer. Crane will be positioned at the suitable location to accesses maximum length.
Sling will be attached with lifting hook for lifting. Column / Panels lifted will be brought
in pre-determined location. Then it will be rest over deck in position required at
respective location followed by fixing the Column with encasing the column with
approved grade of concrete. Lifting & fixing of column / panels will be repeated as
above procedure

Alignment of column and panels:


Pole / Panels alignment to be done by using suitable props. Then for final alignment it
shall be checked with respect to centre line

Note : The dimensions in the above picture is only tentative, as per the project
requirement the same varies.

Fixing

1. Check the BOQ & Relavent standards.


2. Check the dimensions along with grid / locations
3. Check the quality of concrete along with its edge finishes.
4. All the activities shall be in compliance with approved quality plan.
5. Inspection test report shall be generated prior to commencement of the
activity, any short fall shall be attended

10. GENERAL SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:

The following safety precautions shall be followed during construction.


1. Caution boards indicating danger will be fixed at proper place.
2. Safe access should be provided.
3. All the workers and supervisory staff’s shall wear PPE s (Personal Protective
Equipment) during the execution.
4. The work methodology of the activity will be explained to all the key personnel
and workmen involved in that activity and standing instruction will be given.
5. Tool Box meeting to be conducted before starting the work.
6. All the workmen will follow the safety rules.
7. All plants and lifting equipment used in work shall be tested by third party
competent person wherever required.
