¿HOW DO SIMPLE DESIGNS WITH COMMON TOOLS FROM


AUTOCAD?
In AutoCAD, you can perform all designs that
want, from a simple house until a complete
engineering work. AutoCAD has a lot of tools
that allow create fictitious or realistic objects
as like present in the image 1. For this case,
some tools “DRAW TOOLS” used in the
house design are described below: The
preliminary process before to create designs
is set up the workspace in AutoCAD; in the
icon AutoCAD select “DRAWING UTILITIES”
and choose “UNITS”, there should select meters. After, if you want can hide the
“GRIDE” in workspace model.

To get started, I recommend create some layer for each property that you can
imagine in the design, for that go to "LAYER PROPERTIES", select “NEW LAYER”
and set up color, line type, among other characteristics. Later, we can start with
drawing. For drawing frontage you can use tool "LINE", with this may plot vertical
and horizantal lines in the workspace until achieve design that you like; or
“POLYLINE”, this creates a 2D polyline, a single object that is composed of line and
arc segments. For the roof, it can do the same process; but I recommend use the
tool "FILLET” with which you can perform roundings that deems necessary. If you
prefer, for design a only side frontage the house, draw middle part of the side and
used the tool "MIRROR" to complete this side of the frontage. For drawing windows,
you can use two tools: "RECTANGLE" or "CIRCLE", depending the form that it
wants. If for any reason you need erase some lines or drawing characteristics used
the tool "ERASE". For drawing bars of the window, use the tool line for draw only
one line, because using the tool "OFFSET", this tool creates concentric circles,
parallel lines, and parallel curves. You can offset an object at a specified distance or
through a point. After you offset objects, you can “TRIM” and “EXTEND” them as
an efficient method to create drawings containing many parallel lines and curves.
For drawing the front steps and the principal door, you choose the tool line or
polyline. For design the outside environment, in this case the trees, yo can insert the
image with tool “ATTACH” at workspace and with use tool “SCALE” adjust the
drawing; and the tool "SPLINE" (Creates a smooth curve that passes through or
near a set of fit points, or that is defined by the vertices in a control frame) outline
drawing. If you prefer, you can draw the trees away from the already executed
commands, for after with the tool "MOVE" adjust the components.

Finished drawing, is adjusted in "LAYOUT" for locate corresponding information, for


example dimensions; for this, select in the window ANNOTATE "DIMENSIONS" in
the scroll bar, choose "LINEAR", or “ALIGNED”, or "ANGULAR" or "RADIUS" or
"DIAMETER" depending on the feature you want to size. In the same window, if you
choose "TEXT" you can insert phrases or sentences alluding to the design. If instead
you want to do more advanced designs, including 3D objects you have to select "3D
MODELING".
