HP OfficeJet Enterprise, HP PageWide Enterprise - Low Usage and

Storage Considerations

Summary
Sometimes your HP OfficeJet or PageWide printer will go for long periods of time with little to no use (for example, during a workplace shutdown).

If you intend to use your printer in a low-usage or storage mode, consider the following recommendations for maintaining the life of your printer:

To ensure the best print quality, leave your printer turned on so it can perform necessary automatic maintenance cleaning to keep the nozzles
clean and ready for printing. This will occur even if the printer is allowed to enter sleep mode. If periodic cleaning of the print heads does not
occur, they can become susceptible to clogging or color variation. Clean print heads deliver the best print quality.

After the printer is initialized, it should not be turned off for longer than three (3) months. If turned off for longer than three (3) months, you
might need to perform additional print head recovery processes when the printer is turned back on.

Do not turn the printer off by unplugging the power cord unless instructed by Support. Always shut down the printer properly using the Power
button. Once the control panel turns off completely and the printer is no longer making sounds, the printer is safe to unplug from the power
cord. Following these steps will ensure the print bar is capped correctly. If left uncapped, this could lead to more cleaning and recovery processes
being required.

Update the firmware on your printer whenever a new firmware version is available. HP offers firmware updates as a way to provide
enhancements to printers that have already been sold. The cleaning routines are also kept up-to-date to ensure the best print quality possible.
Your printer is designed to support this firmware update process and updating the firmware will ensure that your printer will work as efficiently
as possible.
