ring around the roses, etc. Grandma, a kind and patient woman in her seventies, calling
out to them off stage.
(SET NOTE: BACKYARD, TREES, HUT, A CHAIR/STOOL, SWING/SLIDE)
Grandma: Alright, my darlings, time for lunch! Wash your hands and come inside!
She looks through the window and sees the children caught up in their game, ignoring her
and continuing running around. Grandma watches them for a moment, a hint of
annoyance crossing her face.
Grandma: Those naughty kids! Always up to mischief. Don't make me come out there!
The children hear her footsteps as she walks slowly into the yard. The children hide around
and the grandma scans the area. Suddenly, she spots a foot sticking out from behind a
bush. She walks over and finds one of her grandchildren, trying to hide.
Grandma: (playfully) Little one, what are you doing back here? It's time to come in.
Kid1: (giggling) I don't want to eat yet, Grandma! Can't we play a little longer?
Grandma: (smiling) I'll tell you what. If all of you come to eat now, I'll tell you all a story.
Grandma: But first, you help me find everyone. Alright now, who wants to hear a story?
come out of hiding …
Grandma continues searching and finds each grandchild hiding in various spots around
the yard.
Grandma: yes come out! …. Found you!... I seee you behind that tree, come on out
everyone!
All the children cheer and gather around Grandma on the centre stage, eager to listen.
Grandma: Story time! Okay tell me which story do you want to hear?
Kid5: No, no, no, I want the story about the rainbows!
Kid7: My story!
Kid8: MY STORY!
Grandma: (laughing) Hold on, hold on! Every story is important! When you look up to
see the night sky you don't see one star. You see millions of them twinkling around and
telling their own stories. (fade out to song) Imagine a sky with only one star? Now that is
no fun is it?

Grandma: There are so many countries in the world each country has its own story.
Kid9: Yes, but how do we choose one ? we want to hear all the stories
Grandma: How about this? I tell you a story that involves the dinosaurs, the princess,
the rainbow and the penguins? All these countries and actually all the other animals as
well!
Grandma: Oh I know a great deal about animals, when i was young like you…
Grandma: yes, just like you, I used to live with my family near the jungles of Gir. We had
lots of farm animals and sometimes a lion might be lurking around, sneaking to find its
food.
Grandma- hahaha no, not at all, let me tell you about the jungle. The life in the jungle
was let's say - supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

SCENE3 (5 min)
Characters- Grandma and 16 kids
Back in the backyard Grandma telling story, children gathered around
Grandma: There was a time when no animal ate any other animal, oooh i remember it
was the time of the flood!
Grandma: O no dearie, Dinosaurs existed with their little dinosaur families. Baby
Triceratops lived with mommy triceratops, baby diplodocus lived with her granny
diplodocus, baryonyx family was a mighty large one!
Grandma- haha, these are names of dino species. Back in those days, there were many
species of each animal. (animal sounds) So many that even god was confused, so god
decided to send a flood!(waves crashing sound) To manage this population. All of the
Earth was slowly getting drenched in water. The rains, rivers, the seas, the oceans,
everything was becoming one large water body! Everywhere you see was water!
(thunder sounds) The animals were scared for life! But there was one valiant hero that
was going to save them all. Let us meet this fun lion princess!
FADE OUT
SCENE4- (5 min)
Characters- Rabbit , lion king, lion queen, lion princess, tortoise, deer, bear, monkey, fish,
crab, owl, tiger (12) and some other animals
A grand animal assembly convened in the heart of the lush jungle, a gathering of creatures
from the jungle- the bears, Tigers, owls, monkeys, deers, crabs, fishes and tortoises. The
majestic Lion King and Queen presided over the assembly, in the centre of the stage. Their
regal countenances etched with worry. Panicked murmurs ripple through the assembly.
Beside them all, the Lion Princess, stands, her golden mane shimmering in the dappled
sunlight filtering through the canopy, she is unbothered and cheerful.
(Sound- thunder)
Rabbit1: (with urgency) It's coming! My lord! The floodwaters, the rains—they are
showing no mercy! We are all doomed!
Lion King: [Anxiously] What shall we do? Since we started living in harmony not
following the food chain, the gods seem angry with us, this rain hasn't stopped in
months!
Lion Queen: [Nodding] It seems the world is changing, and not in our favour.
Tortoise: (absolutely slowly)The flood will consume us all if we do not act swiftly.
Rabbit2: If it were upon you we sure will be doomed! But our highness would definitely
have a solution for us, don't you?
Lion King: I’m Afraid not. There are very few trees left, and all the land is populated by
us, there is no space to grow more trees.
Lion Queen: We have been thinking about this all day and all night. But we don't know
what to do! We have used up most of all our resources and we have nothing left to eat!
Tiger: The jungles are shrinking, and the anger of the gods is evident. If we do not find a
solution, we will all surely perish in water.
Fish: (from behind a rock) [Confidently] We will be safe in the waters, let us retreat
there!
Owl: Huh! You fool! Don't you know, Unlike you guys, not all animals can breathe
underwater!
Tortoise: (Slowly) Besides, the water flow will not be helpful anyway! It will carry us all
away!
Monkey: Can you come to the point princess ? What is the solution?
Lion Princess: It's quite simple really all we need to do is unite all animals, from the
tiniest ants to the mightiest elephant, and build vessels to keep us safe and afloat.
Tiger: [Eagerly] She's right! We must gather all the animals of the world and embark on
a journey to safety.
Lion King: Birds help us, make all the preparations to travel the globe. We shall gather
all our brethren.
Tiger Minister: First let's get the Elephants from the Congo basin, they will help us
gather the wood for the floating vessels!
All animals follow and exit in a line, with a rejuvenated sense of purpose.

ELEPHANT1: Oh goodness! We didn't know anything about the flood, we were just
enjoying the rains!
Lion Princess: We were hoping you could help us in gathering wood to make floating
vessels.
Giraffe2: Why don't we also seek the help of the beavers? They build amazing dams,
just in case.
Elephant3: (thoughtfully) Beavers? I'm afraid we have never encountered them in these
parts. You may have to travel to a distant land to find them.
Giraffe3: (nodding) Yes, I have heard that beavers are found in a land across the great
ocean, in America!
Lion Princess: (determined) Then that is where we shall go. We must find these beavers
and seek their help. Let us depart at once.
SCENE 6 (3 min)

Capybara: (approaching the group) (smirking) Well, well, well, what do we have here? A
group of exotic animals visiting my humble abode?
Tiger: (excitedly) Are you perhaps a beaver? We are in search of beavers to help us build
dams and—
Capybara: (cutting them off and puffing out his chest) Ah, you're in luck! I happen to be an
expert dam builder myself. I can show you a thing or two about dam construction. You
see my grandfather and his great grandfather and his great great grandfather, all built
fine specimens of dams! It is in my blood you see! We breathe dams, we eat dams, we
live dams, we are livers, dam livers!
The Capybara starts boasting about his dam-building skills, much to the amazement of the
other animals.
Monkey: Oh thank goodness, that would be a great help with the oncoming floods!
Flamingo: Yes the floods, the whole world will soon be covered in water!
Capybara: (sheepishly) I'm sorry to deceive you, but I'm not a beaver. I'm a Capybara. I
thought it would be fun to play along, but now I see.(scared) I am no beaver, I can swim
but i can't build dams am I gonna die? Oh no! I can't even—
Lion Princess: (kindly) It's alright. Don't worry. We are here to help! Do you know where
we can find the beavers?
Capybara: (brightening up) Yes, I have friends who might be able to help. My friend, the
skunk, and the moose often visit the beavers. They will know where to find them.
Beaver: Oh yes, the ravens sent a message about you coming over your highness, how
can we help?
Lion princess: We need your help in building dams and ships.
SCENE 7 (3 min)
Characters - Pandax8
As the animals continue their journey, they come across a group of pandas in a bamboo
forest, bustling with activity. The pandas are busy gathering bamboo and constructing
makeshift barriers.
Panda 1: (excitedly) Did you hear? There's a large procession coming our way!
Panda 3: (shaking his head) Nonsense! Animals live in harmony. All we do is eat bamboo.
Why would anyone come here to fight?
The pandas continue to gather bamboo and strengthen their defenses, preparing for the
arrival of the procession. As they work, the procession comes into view. To their surprise,
it's not an army, but a group of animals from different parts of the world, led by the lion
princess and the assembly.
Lion Princess: (smiling warmly) Hello, friends! We come in peace, seeking the help of
the beavers to save our jungle from the floodwaters.
Panda 5: (sheepishly) Oh, thank goodness! We thought you were here to fight us.
Lion Princess: (reassuringly) Rest assured, we come as friends, seeking your help in a
time of need.
Panda 6: (excitedly) Of course, we will help in any way we can! We pandas may not be
able to build dams like the beavers, but we can certainly lend a paw in other ways.
Panda 7: Exactly the ice will keep us safe from the flood! And the polar bears will help us
keep warm!
Lion Princess: Yes, great idea we can make igloos and live there till the rains subside!
(SET- They all travel in large ships.)
The scene shifts to Antarctica, where the penguins, orcas, and polar bears are gathered at a
door. Penguin 1 is knocking on the door of penguin 2, she refuses to come out.
Penguin1: why don't you ever come build a snowman with me?
Penguin2: There is a flood coming! Haven't you heard? How can you want to play and
build snowmen?
Polar bear1: oh the flood will not bother us! We have a system in place, don't worry
child!
Polar bear2: Yes, We follow a food chain where each animal is assigned another animal
to eat. Our population is in control, we don't need to worry.
Penguin2: But I am scared! What if all the other animals end up here and overpopulate
us?
The penguins, with their playful waddle, welcome the assembly of animals with open
flippers.
Penguin Leader: (cheerfully) Welcome, friends, to our icy home! How can we assist you?
Lion Princess: (gratefully) We seek shelter and assistance in our time of need. The
floodwaters threaten our jungle.
Penguin Leader: (nodding understandingly) Of course, you are welcome to stay with us.
The orcas and polar will also open their homes for you.
Seal Leader: (regretfully) I'm sorry, but we cannot accommodate you. Our resources are
limited, and we must follow the food chain to control our population.
Lion Princess: (thoughtfully) I understand. Could you give us some time to discuss this
amongst ourselves?
Seal Leader: (nodding) Very well, but remember, we must all follow the food chain to
maintain balance and harmony.
Panda: pray, what is this food chain all of you have been talking about?
Seal Leader: Imagine a big circle where everyone eats something. This is called the food
chain.
Polar bear1: Plants are at the start of the food chain because they make their own food
from sunlight, water, and air. Animals that eat only plants, like cows, rabbits, and deer,
are called herbivores. They are next in the food chain.
Orca fish: Then come the animals that eat other animals. These are called carnivores.
Lions, tigers, and wolves are examples of carnivores. They are next in the food chain.
Penguin1: Lastly, there are animals that eat both plants and other animals. These are
called omnivores. Humans, bears, and pigs are examples of omnivores. They are also
part of the food chain.
Seal Leader: Each animal in the food chain depends on the other one before it for food.
This helps keep nature in balance otherwise as you see there will be imbalance,
overpopulation and some species might completely vanish.
[The lion princess gestures to everyone to come around and discuss. The animals huddle
together to decide their next steps. After much deliberation, the lion princess addresses the
seals.]
Lion Princess: (determined) We have decided to follow the food chain and live in
harmony with nature. We will manage our population and resources wisely.
Seal Leader: (pleased) Very well. You are welcome to stay with us.
The animals rejoice and are on the stage where they build diff habitats to shelter
themselves from the rain.

flood?
Grandma: It came and went but the animals had each other’s back now and slowly the
waters calmed down, the rain went away and the god sent god sent the rainbow as a
sign of hope as long as animals follow the food chain, use their resources wisely there
won't be a worldwide flood again! The world became a lovely symphony again! And our
lion princess grew up to become a mighty lion queen, look here she is getting
coronated.
