People: A Cultural Showcase

In the mountains of Cordillera, the Igorot people, indigenous to


this region of the Philippines, have a rich cultural heritage that is
reflected in their unique products. This showcase highlights some
of the best traditional arts, crafts, and culinary delights created by
the Igorot, offering a glimpse into their creativity and craftsmanship.

The Igorot are known for their exceptional skills in wood carving, weaving, and
metalworking. Their wood carvings often depict human figures and elements of nature,
showcasing their deep connection to their environment. Weaving is another significant

prepared by beating the chicken to preserve its blood, then cooking it with etag (smoked
pork) and vegetables; Etag, salted and smoked pork often used in various dishes; and
Pinuneg, traditional blood sausages considered a delicacy. Additionally, the Igorot
produce beautiful handicrafts such as baskets, beadwork, and textiles, which are not only
functional but also serve as a source of livelihood and a means to preserve their cultural
heritage. The craftsmanship involved in these products is passed down through
