The story take place in and around a club.
Chantel, Envir, Doepie en Jerome are friends.
She is younger than them. She prefers to be friends with them because they make her
feel safe.
They make sure no one bothers her, which is why she calls them her bodyguards,
Lance the ministers son has had his eyes on her for a while, as he has some-what
fallen in love with her.
Chantel's parents know that she is friends with these three older boys.
Her mother knows that other boys will stay away from her, because of these three
boys.
Lance say he will go to Chantel's house next Saturday. He intends on meeting her
parents.
Chantel decided that she will not go to the club next Saturday. This implies that she is
ready for Lance to meet her parents.
She also decides that she will no longer need bodyguards. This is because Lance
now her bodyguard.
Chantel can be seen as a “forward girl’ because of her actions and the way she carries
herself.
Even though she has good traits of staying away from gossip because she despises it.
It's ironic because she gives people something to gossip too, therefore promoting it.
She not being of legal age to be at a club, brings up the question, are the boys good
company for her?
A good trait that she possess is that she doesn't lie to her parents about the company
she hangs around with. They know her company, which shows that she is doesn't
keep secrets of general things like this.
* A slow, romantic stick-together song that makes single girls like me consider suicide’
This shows that some girls are tested by peer pressure, which is sad because they
actually playing with their lives.
Trudy van wyk is mentioned because it shows what uneducated and young sexual
experiences may cause... Teenage pregnancy.
This then brings us back to ‘the club scenario’ where Chantel herself can be faced with
the same situation as Trudy, because she's in a club, under aged and anything canhappen. She can be drugged and raped. She could even perform sexual relations
under the influence of alcohol.
+ We see Chantel not experiencing this because she is strong and doesn’t drink because
she is young. Doesn't mean she's young nothing can happen to her being at the club.
(has been
watching her for a while)
is.
