1. Do you think you can learn a language on your own without a
dictionary? How? Is it easy or difficult? Yes, it’s possible to learn a language on your own without a dictionary, but it would be difficult. You could focus on listening and speaking through language immersion, watching shows, or talking to native speakers. However, not having a dictionary would make it harder to learn new vocabulary quickly. 2. Would you like to live/study in a different country and learn their language? Which one? Yes, I would love to live in a different country to learn a language. Japan is one country I’d be interested in because of its culture and history. 3. What’s your main motivation for learning English? My main motivation for learning English is to improve communication with people from around the world and to expand career opportunities, as English is a global language. 4. Describe the opposite of an ideal partner. The opposite of an ideal partner would be someone who is unsupportive, doesn’t communicate well, is disrespectful, and lacks understanding or empathy. 5. What do you think is the most interesting thing to do for a visitor in your town? In Santa Marta, the most interesting thing to do is to visit Tayrona National Park, where you can hike, enjoy stunning beaches, and see beautiful wildlife. 6. What do you have to/must - mustn’t - don’t you have to do in the university? At university, I have to attend lectures, complete assignments, and participate in exams. I mustn’t plagiarize or miss deadlines. I don’t have to study alone; I can work in study groups, which helps with understanding. 7. I have a problem: How do you normally get to _ What should I do? I normally get to places by bus or walking, depending on the distance. If you have a transportation problem, I recommend using a reliable app for public transport or cycling if possible. 8. How long does it normally take you to get there? It usually takes me about 30 minutes to get to university by bus. 9. What’s the first thing you do when you get home from work/school? The first thing I do when I get home is to relax, maybe grab a snack or check my messages. 10. What do you do to get fit? I stay fit by going to the gym, jogging, or doing yoga. 11. Do you ever get angry? What about? Yes, I get angry sometimes, usually when I encounter unfairness or people being rude. 12. Have you ever gotten lost/a ticket? What happened? Yes, I’ve gotten lost while exploring a new city. Once, I got a parking ticket because I didn’t notice the meter had expired. 13. How many texts/calls do you get a day? Who are they from? I get around 10–15 texts and calls a day, mostly from friends, family, or work- related contacts. 14. What happens if you change queues at the supermarket? According to Murphy’s Law, if you change queues at the supermarket, the one you just left will start moving faster. 15. Use one of these confusing verbs: What’s the president’s salary? The president earns a salary for his work, not wins it. 16. Whose marker/pen/exam is this? You could say: “Whose pen is this?” if you find it in a shared space like a classroom. 17. What would you do if…? If I had the chance, I would travel the world, exploring new places and learning about different cultures. 18. How long have you…? Are you afraid of anything? How long have you been afraid of that? What’s your favorite hobby? How long have you done that? I’ve been afraid of heights since childhood. My favorite hobby is photography, which I’ve been doing for about five years now. 19. Give me a short biography of your father/mother. My father worked in finance, dedicated to his profession, and always encouraged discipline and hard work. My mother is a passionate teacher who has inspired many students with her dedication to education. Both have played crucial roles in shaping who I am today.
