Version 5.4.5
Version 5.4.3
Version 5.4
If you need to use the plug-in with an older version of macOS (10.9.5 - 10.12),
you can do that using Neat Video 5.3 (available in your account).
The new versions of macOS starting from 10.14 are no longer compatible
with the NVIDIA CUDA driver required to run CUDA-enabled applications
and plug-ins.
Previous versions of Neat Video could still use CUDA in macOS 10.13 and
earlier. In order to evolve Neat Video further, we had to switch to newer
macOS development tools, which are no longer compatible with the
NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit.
Version 5.3
Note: due to changes in AMD drivers, some older Graphics Core Next 1 GPUs are
no longer supported. Please test directly or contact support to verify.
Version 5.2.6
Version 5.2
+ Option to choose between Metal and OpenCL for supported AMD GPUs
(in Preferences > Performance > GPU > Advanced Settings)
Using Metal instead of OpenCL may increase the speed of Neat Video's
GPU-based processing for up to 40% depending on hardware,
frame size and filter settings. The speedup is especially noticeable
with large frames (like 4K) and high temporal radius.
Version 5.1.5
Version 5.1
* Improved compatibility with the most recent update of Premiere Pro 2019
* Added workarounds for the known Premiere bugs related to:
- using a non-standard frame rate
- applying Time Remapping or Speed/Duration
- Fixed crashes in Premiere Elements 2018 for certain scenarios
Version 5.0
* Optimized for modern hardware for faster processing
* CPU-based processing:
Up to 1.5x faster
* GPU-based processing:
1 GPU : 1.3x..2.0x faster (1.6x average)
2 GPUs: 1.4x..2.0x faster (1.7x average)
+ Flicker reduction
+ Illustrated help dialogs for many filter settings and tuning modes
+ Additional visual guidance to adjust the GPU memory allowed to Neat Video
(in Preferences > Performance)
* Other improvements
+ Added support for AMD Radeon Pro Vega 48 GPU installed in some new iMacs
Version 4.8.5
Note: due to changes in AMD drivers, some older non-GCN GPUs are no longer
supported. In particular, Neat Video no longer supports
Radeon HD 5xxx / 6xxx cards and other devices based on the following
chip series: Juniper, Cypress, Barts, Cayman
Version 4.8
Version 4.7
+ Added support for Premiere Pro CC 2018 and Premiere Elements 2018
+ Added support for AMD Radeon Vega GPUs installed in new iMac Pro computers:
AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 and 64
Version 4.6
+ New Second Revision plug-in for Premiere uses the newer API of Premiere
to overcome bugs of old API of Premiere that caused the following problems:
Notes:
o The newer API (and therefore new plug-in) has some limitations of its own:
- Premiere Pro CS6, CC, and Premiere Elements 12 have a memory leak
that takes place when an instance of the effect is copy & pasted.
+ Added support for AMD Radeon Pro 555 / 560 / 570 / 575 / 580
+ Added support for AMD Radeon RX 460 / 470 / 480 / 560 / 570 /580
Version 4.5
+ A new "Profile Assist" viewer mode helps to choose areas without details
for profiling
* More accurate analysis of "Very Low" and "Ultra Low" frequency components
when using small areas
+ "Preview Assist" viewer mode provides a more detailed look into results
of noise reduction, which helps to adjust the filter settings faster and
more precisely
+ A new "Noise Level Tuning Assist" tool helps to adjust "Temporal Noise Level"
(former "Temporal Threshold") using a visually enhanced preview
+ Added "Slow Shutter Tuning Assist" tool that helps to adjust "Slow Shutter"
settings using a visually enhanced preview
+ "Quality Mode" can now be adjusted separately for temporal and spatial filter
* If a frame is not selected in the clip before opening Neat Video window,
then the frame from the beginning of the clip is used automatically
+ added support for new MacBook Pro GPUs: Radeon Pro 450 / 455 / 460
+ added support for Radeon RX 460 / 470 / 480 and similar GPUs
Version 4.2
+ Added support for new NVIDIA GPUs: GeForce GTX 1060 / 1070 / 1080
Version 4.1
* "Auto Profile" function has been improved to find better areas for analysis.
Using more suitable areas leads to more accurate noise reduction.
* Added a workaround for the known Premiere bug related to using Trim/Razor
Version 4.0
+ "Very Low" and "Ultra Low" frequency ranges added to the set of frequency
components that can be separately targeted by the spatial noise filter
+ "Dust and Scratches" filter to remove film scratches, film dust and
impulse interference
+ "High Quality" mode for better detail preservation and sharper image
(at the cost of reduced processing speed: 1.5-4 times slower)
* Optimized workflow
+ Overall noise levels of the current selection and of the whole current
profile are displayed in "Device Noise Profile" panel (in Advanced Mode)
(quick evaluation of the noise level helps to find the most suitable
area for analysis)
+ Improved preview takes all temporal and spatial filters into account
This allows to adjust filters individually and in combination as well as
to avoid roundtrips to host application for checking the final results
* Better support for systems with a large number of CPU cores (32 and above)
* CUDA Compute Capability 5.0 is now supported in MacOS allowing Neat Video
to take advantage of the latest NVIDIA GPUs
Notes:
1. Due to changes in NVIDIA drivers and CUDA Toolkit, GPUs with Compute
Capabilities 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported
2. NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA Capability 5.0 are only supported in 64-bit apps
due to a limitation of the CUDA driver (please refer to known issues)
* Other improvements
+ Added support for some new AMD GPUs based on Pitcairn, Tahiti and Hawaii
chip series, for example, R9 270, R9 280, R9 290 etc.
Version 3.5
+ Added support for new AMD GPUs: FirePro D300 / D500 / D700
* Improved support for AMD GPUs conforming to the Graphics Core Next Architecture
Version 3.4
+ Added support for new Mac-compatible GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7950 Mac
+ Added support for new NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA Compute Capability 3.5
(such as GeForce GTX Titan and Tesla K20)
+ New Navigator panel to quickly locate areas for profiling and preview
using a thumbnail display
- Plug-in could crash when using multiple OpenCL GPUs on MacPro, fixed
Version 3.2
Version 3.1
* Optimized use of memory resources when running multiple instances of the filter
- In some rare cases, using CPU and GPU simultaneously could produce artifacts,
fixed
Version 3.0
Higher performance
+ CUDA support
+ Faster noise reduction using CUDA-compatible GPUs
For example, using NVIDIA GTX 285 on a computer based on Intel i7
makes Neat Video around x2 faster.
Version 2.7
+ Added support for Premiere Pro CS5.5
+ Control in Preferences to adjust the number of CPU cores used for rendering
Version 2.6
Version 2.5
