Area:
Teaching Dates
October 3-4 Quarter: 2
and Time:

Day 1-2
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of factors of polynomials,
rational algebraic expressions, linear equations including graphing linear equations
given the slope and an intercept, finding the equation of a line given the intercepts,
solving problems involving Diophantine equations, solving a system of linear
equations using determinants and solving problems involving system of linear
equations including area of triangle, test for collinear points and twopoint form of
equation of line and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations and
inequalities in two variables and linear functions. The learner is able to formulate
real-life problems involving factors of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions,
linear equations including graphs, the Diophantine Equations, inequalities in two
variables, systems of linear equations including the use of determinants,
inequalities in two variables, linear functions, and solve these problems accurately
using a variety of strategies.

C. Learning  solves problems involving linear equations in two variables. (M8AL-Ig-2)
Competencies/Objectives SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Write the LC code for each 1. translate word problems into linear equations.
2. solve problems involving linear equations in two variables; and
3. apply the concepts of solving linear equations in dealing with real-life
problems.

F. Developing mastery
(Leads to Formative ACTIVITY #1: You want to buy a hamburger and a pizza slice. The
Assessment 3) hamburger costs P20 each and pizza slice at P12 each. You have P160 to
spend. If x is the number of hamburger and y is the number of slices of
pizza.

1) Write an equation that models the different amount. 20x +12y=160

2) If you plan to buy two hamburgers, how many slices of pizza can
you buy with your remaining money? Y = 10
3) If you plan to buy five slices of pizza, how many burgers can you buy
with your remaining money? X = 5
ACTIVITY #2: A tricycle passenger is charged P20.00 for the first ten
kilometers and an additional of P3.00 per succeeding kilometers. What is
the cost of a 25 kilometers ride?
G. Finding practical
applications of concepts
and skills in daily living
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the
lesson

I. Evaluating learning Read the situation & Write the correct letter of the answer.

For nos. 3-5 A vendor buys apples and oranges to be sold in a sidewalk. An apple
costs Php20 each and an orange costs Php15 each. The vendor has only Php1,000
to spend.

or supervisor can help me
solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I used/discover
which I wish to share with
