Lighting System Design For Conference Room
Lighting System Design For Conference Room
1. Direct Lights
It is the light that shines directly from the light source to the design target
without reflecting off any object or surface. An example of this type of
light is ceiling luminaries which flood the light directly to the floor.
Indirect light refers to the light which illuminates from the light source,
then reflects on an object or surface to the design target spot. The light
reflection can be seen from the lamp installed in the fold of the ceiling or
on the wall. The light diffusion will depend on the object or surface’s
properties.

Characteristics of the indirect light for conference room
Both types of light are important for conference lighting design. However,
ambient light and accent light should also be balanced together with other
factors.
Ambient light is the key lighting in a conference room. This type of light
will disperse evenly in the room. While beauty is not the main point of the
ambient light, it focuses more on the functions. Generally, fluorescent
lamps or chandeliers which flood the light in wide-angle over the room
area is more popular for this light type.
Accent light is the light which beams to pop out or highlight a particular
spot within the room. For example, painting display light and sculpture
display light, both of which add the final touch to the architecture to be
more attractive. Spotlight is the major light that goes well with this type,
and one example is the profile spotlight.
