2. Are these competencies limited only to professional competencies?

No, the stated competences are not exclusive to professional abilities. Many of them
apply to interpersonal connections and personal growth in addition to the skills and
knowledge needed for good teaching practice, even though they do cover those topics
as well. Not just in work environments but also in interpersonal relationships, effective
communication is crucial. Building meaningful relationships with students, as well as
with coworkers, friends, and family, requires the development of empathy and emotional
intelligence. Critical thinking and problem-solving are transferable skills that people may
use in both academic and non-academic contexts to help them make decisions and
overcome obstacles.

3. For a teacher to be great, is it enough to possess the professional

competencies to plan a lesson, execute a lesson plan, manage a class,
assess learning, compute and report grades? Explain your answer.

Being a truly great teacher requires a combination of professional competencies with

qualities like connection, inspiration, differentiation, creativity, social and emotional
support, continuous improvement, and community engagement. Technical proficiency in
planning, executing, managing, assessing, and reporting are essential foundational
skills for teaching. The culmination of these elements produces outstanding instruction
and memorable learning opportunities for students.

1. For a teacher to be great,Education
which is more important - personal
qualities or professional competencies?

What defines an excellent teacher is a combination of professional

talents and character attributes. Strong relationships with students and the
creation of a pleasant learning environment depend on personal qualities

The things that stick with us about the teachers we remember the most are frequently
their character traits and the effects they have on us. Teachers that make a difference,
are passionate and enthusiastic, compassionate and helpful, push students
intellectually, foster critical thinking, and force them to think beyond the box are the
ones that kids remember the most. These educators cultivate a passion of learning and
pique students' interest.

As a teacher, I have a responsibility to give students high-quality instruction,

encourage their learning, and also show that I can communicate effectively, be well-
organized, address problems with empathy, and improve my teaching methods.
