I. What is a computer?
Definition:
A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information or data. It has the ability to
store, retrieve and process data according to specific instruction. You may already know that you
can use a computer to type documents, send emails, play games and browse the web. You can
also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentation, and even videos.

III. Function of each component:


1. -The monitor:
looks like a television screen it where you see what is happening on your computer (face of
the computer) it acts as an interface between user and CPU (central processing unit)

2. -Keyboard:
Is one of the most important part of the computer it is designed to input the data by typing
or symbols numbers letters

3. -Mouse:
It helps you moving the cursor around on the computer screen (it lets you click and point
all objects and various items and functions on the screen

4. -Central processing unit:


It is the brain of the computer . It controls all the parts of the computer and make them
work together. All other parts of computer are connected to the CPU the processor is also the
store for all the information in the computer

5. -Printer:
The printer makes the copy of your work on paper (files like images, texts, excel and
office documents)

6. -Speakers:
Sound produces by the computer songs played on it digital audios are heard through the
speaker
