Canada is about 4,700 miles long

from one side to the other and is the


second biggest country on Earth.

Four features that are part of Canada’s


physical geography are lakes, rivers, the
Canadian Shield, and western mountains.

The long, cold winters with heavy snowfall can


make daily life difficult. This includes challenges
in transportation, heating homes, and
maintaining outdoor activities.

Canada's faraway northern woods are filled


with many animals like bears, wolves,
beavers, deer, and mountain lions.

You can observe diverse wildlife in national parks and wilderness areas, like
whale watching, bear viewing, and seeing moose and caribou.
