RESCO operates in Saris with two primary areas of inspection

and maintenance : heavy machinery and ford vehicles. In the
heavy machinery inspection and maintenance area, it has two
workshops: the main shop and the CRC(component rebuilding
center) room. The main shop is dedicated to assembling and dis
assembling components and inspecting them for technical
issues. If a component has a technical fault, it is transferred to
the CRC (component rebuilding center)room, where repairs are
conducted, and faulty parts are replaced with new
components. This setup ensures efficient and effective
maintenance for all heavy machinery.

In the ford vehicles inspection and maintenance area:To

provide the best experience for its customers, the Ford vehicles
maintenance and repair workshop is organized and equipped
as a one-stop shop.

Highlights of its services include:

- Trained and Skilled Professionals: The team is highly trained to

handle a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Special Service Tools: They use specialized tools for repairing
critical components such as engines, transmissions, brake

Automotive Service Steps

Measuring

Begin by measuring engine components to assess wear and

determine if they need repair or replacement. Use appropriate
measuring tools for accuracy.

Disassembling

Carefully disassemble the engine, taking note of how parts are

arranged and connected. Label components as necessary to
ensure proper reassembly.

Machining

Perform any necessary machining on engine parts, such as

resurfacing, honing, or modifying components to restore them
to specifications.
Installing New or Serviced Parts

Replace damaged or worn parts with new or refurbished

components, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.

Reassembling

Reassemble the engine in the reverse order of disassembly.

Ensure all components are properly fitted and secured.

Adjusting

Make any necessary adjustments to ensure the engine operates

correctly, including setting clearances and torque specifications.

Measuring Tools

Rulers

Description: The simplest tool for measuring linear distances.

Uses: General measurements of length.

Feeler Gauges

Description: Strips or blades of metal with various thicknesses.

Uses: Measuring clearances between two parts, such as rocker

arms and valve stems.

Micrometer

Description: A precision tool used to measure small

dimensions.

Uses: Measuring the diameter of intake and exhaust valves.

Scan Tool (Tach 1, Tach 2)

Description: Diagnostic tools for vehicle systems.

Uses: Monitoring engine performance and reading diagnostic

trouble codes.

Sound scope

Description: An acoustic measurement tool.

Uses: Diagnosing issues by listening to sounds in engine

components.

Engine Shop Hand Tools

Wrenches

Engine Types

Number of Cylinders

Types:

1. Inline: Cylinders arranged in a straight line

(e.g., 4, 6, or 8 cylinders).
2. V-type: Cylinders arranged in a V configuration
(e.g., V6, V8).
3. Flat: Cylinders arranged horizontally (e.g.,
Boxer engines).
4. Rotary: Wankel engines with a triangular rotor.

Arrangement of Valves

Types:

1. Overhead Valve (OHV): Valves located in the

cylinder head.
2. Overhead Camshaft (OHC): Valves operated by
camshafts located in the cylinder head.

Single OHC: One camshaft controls both intake

and exhaust valves.

Double OHC (DOHC): Two camshafts; one for

intake and one for exhaust.

Type of Fuel Used

Types:

1. Gasoline Engines: Typically use spark ignition.

2. Diesel Engines: Use compression ignition.
3. Alternative Fuels: Engines that run on biofuels,
ethanol, or hydrogen.

Method of Ignition

Types:

1. Spark Ignition: Uses a spark plug to ignite the

air-fuel mixture (common in gasoline engines).
2. Compression Ignition: Ignites fuel through high
pressure and temperature (typical in diesel
engines).

Firing Order

Definition: The sequence in which the cylinders in an engine

fire.

Importance: Affects engine balance, smoothness, and

performance. Common firing orders include:

1. For a V8 engine: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
