2024 Production Contract
2024 Production Contract
1. Any student auditioning is expected to be truthful and honest on their audition form, particularly
ith regards to whether or not they will accept any role. If a student is cast in a role they indicated
w
they WOULD accept, and then chooses not to take that role for any reason, that student is not eligible
to audition for the next Production.
. All conflicts must be stated on the audition form and initial cast information sheet. Any conflict not
2
stated in advance will not be considered excused. Cast members are permitted to miss two (2)
scheduled rehearsals, whether due to illness or important appointments. When a cast member
exceeds their limit of absences, they will be dismissed from the cast. If the limit of absences is
exceeded during the last two weeks of rehearsal, the cast member will not be permitted to participate
in the next Edgars Creek Secondary College (ECSC) production. Seniors who fall victim to this
situation during the production will not be eligible for Drama Awards (hosting, award nominations).
The directors reserve the right to judge special cases—extended illness, death in the family, or other
extenuating circumstances.
. Cast members must be present for all scheduled rehearsals. Rehearsal schedules are made
3
available at the first cast meeting. Starting and ending times are noted for each scheduled
rehearsal. It is expected that all cast members arrive on time and stay for the entire rehearsal.
. In order to attend any rehearsal or weekday performance, a cast member must attend no less than
4
a half day of school (3 periods) on the given rehearsal or performance day.
. There is a payment of $80AUD to participate in the production, however cast members are
5
expected to provide some personal items. This could include shoes, undergarments, makeup items
contacting their faces, and all or part of your costume.
.Each cast member must follow all requirements of the Code of Conduct laid out in the Edgars Creek
6
Secondary College rules and Department of Education Guidelines. You are responsible for
familiarizing yourself with these. Participation in an ECSC production is an extra-curricular activity. At
no time does the play/musical take priority over your grades. All production participants MUST
MAINTAIN GOOD GRADES AND ATTENDANCE throughout the duration of rehearsals and
performance. Grade contracts will be issued to students who have multiple below expectations or
should a teacher/department/coordinator determine this. Failure to maintain a positive result, will
result in an actor/production member losing their role (per district policy). Furthermore, your grades in
your classes DO matter! A low grade in a music, acting or art class reflects poorly on your work ethic
and could prevent you from participating in future productions.
. Since participation in a school production is a privilege, not a right, you are expected to conduct
7
yourself in a respectful and kind manner. Bullying, negative talk, rumour-spreading and the like will
not be tolerated. Your conduct in and out of school is expected to be of the highest calibre. You are
expected to be cooperative and respectful with your peers and the adults with whom you work. You
are expected to give 100% of your talents and energy at every rehearsal so we can all reach our
desired goal of the best production of which we are capable.
. Students cast in lead roles will be given additional one to one coaching by members of the
8
Production Team. These lessons are compulsory, will occur once per week, appear on a students
compass and will last for no more than 25 minutes. Students are expected to catch up on any missed
class work. Every effort will be made to avoid lessons clashing with CAT and SACs.
9. Phones are not permitted during rehearsals, due to Government regulations.
1. Each cast member must be willing to do whatever is necessary for the success of the production.
1
This includes remaining in good health, avoiding dangerous activities, getting good rest…etc.
12. The directors reserve the right to dismiss anyone from the cast for reasons of insubordination,
lack of cooperation with peers or adults, and any disrespect he/she/they may show to anyone involved
in the production.
