Rotocopter activity

In the space below list your variables: INDEPENDENT, DEPENDENT and (2) impactful
CONSTANTS

Experiment part 1

Change your rotocopter 5 times as per your chosen INDEPENDENT variable, and measure
how long it takes your copter to reach the floor from at least a height of 2 meters. Repeat
each change 3 times and record all data in a data table below. Calculate the average time to
drop and make that a separate column.

Plot a graph (with graph paper) that shows the relationship between your chosen
INDEPENDENT variable and the total time it takes the copter to reach the floor from your
chosen height.
Experiment 2

Choose 3 of the above copters to measure their speed as they drop from your chosen
height. Take a video of them dropping next to a measuring tape so that you can determine
their distance from the starting height for each second (or less) of their descent. Repeat
each drop two times and then calculate the average distance for that time. (choose 5 times
to measure distances for each drop)

Record the data from your drop in a proper data table below with a calculated average as a
separate column

Plot a graph (using graph paper) that shows the relationship between time and average
distances from starting point for the 3 copters above. These can all be plotted on the same
graph, just be sure to label which is which .

Analysis

Briefly describe any patterns or trends you see in your data, and try to explain a reason for
them.

Evaluation
Briefly describe any errors made during experiment and what might be done to avoid them
in the future if you repeated this experiment.
