ENGINEERING GRAPHICS-II
(Mechanical Engineering)

Note: Answer any FIVE Questions. All Questions carry Equal Marks.

1. A hexagonal pyramid, having a base with a 30mm side and a 50mm long
axis, rests on one of its base corners on the ground with axis inclined at
45° to the H.P. Draw its projections when the vertical plane containing the
axis
and the corner that lies in the H.P. makes 30° with the V.P. (12M

2. A pentagonal pyramid, having a base with a 30mm side and a 70mm long
axis, is resting on its base in the H.P. with an edge of the base nearer the
V.P., parallel to it. A vertical section plane inclined at 45° to the V.P. cuts
the
pyramid at a distance of 8mm from the axis. Draw its sectional front view,
ad
top view and true shape of the section. (12M

3. A hexagonal prism, having base with a 30mm side and a 70mm axis, its
resting on its base on the ground with a side of base inclined at 45° to the
V.P. It is cut by an auxiliary inclined plane making an angle of 45° with the
H.P. and passing through a point 15mm below the top end of the axis.
Obtain the development of the lateral surface of the truncated prism.

4. A cylinder with a 70mm base diameter is resting on its base on the H.P. It
is penetrated by another cylinder of 60mm base diameter, such that their
axis
intersects each other at right angles. Draw the projection of the
combination
and show the curves of intersection. (12M

5. A sphere with a 25mm diameter is cut by a section plane at distance of
15mm from its center. It is surmounted with its cut surface at the top, over
a
frustum of square pyramid with a 70mm base side, 50mm top side and
40mm height. Draw isometric view of the arrangement. (12M

6. Fig shows the isometric projection of an object. Draw its orthographic view.

7. a) A tetrahedron with a 60mm edge is resting on a face on the H.P. such
that an edge is parallel to both H.P. and V.P. and 20mm in front of the V.P.
Draw its projections. (6M

b) Draw the development of a square prism, with a 40mm base and a
60mm axis, resting on its base in the H.P. with a rectangular face
parallel to V.P.

8. A pentagonal prism, having a base with a 30mm side and a 70mm axis has
an edge of its base on the H.P. and axis parallel to the V.P. and inclined at
60° to the H.P. It is cut by an A.I.P. inclined at 60° to the H.P. and passing
