A computer is a machine designed to operate on a lot of information automatically in a

few lapses of time. It has a plethora of advantages which renders its use highly essential in our
daily life. The aim of this presentation is to talk about the advantages of computer.

First of all, Computer along with internet facility is the most powerful device that
children can use to learn new skills and abilities in education. With the help of the internet,
students can find useful information about their projects, assignments and also can take useful
help from other researchers as they store and organize their research materials in computers.
Computer education in schools plays a major noteworthy role in the career development of
young children. It’s the most suitable tool for online courses equally. Being actively used in
various educational institutes like schools, colleges and big universities, computers are used to
aid the learning process of students. Professors in colleges and teachers in schools take help of
audio-visual techniques to prepare lesson plans for children. For this, they use Microsoft
PowerPoint to prepare electronic presentations about their lectures. These electronic
presentations can be shown on multimedia and sound projectors in classrooms. It is an
interesting and simple method to learn for students. Multimedia (Sight and sound) presentations
are easy to deliver for teachers also as these presentations spare a great deal of time and effort.
Parents can follow their children carefully by checking every minute progress of their children
through computers and the web by browsing the school’s website. They can check different
assessment results, attendance reports, participation in curricular and co-curricular activities,
and significantly more. Another main advantage of using computers in the education field is
the improvement in the quality of teaching-learning process and communication between
students and teachers. For this, they use Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare electronic
presentations about their lectures. Computer revolutionizes the way of study while making
education smoother and quicker. It also connects us to different sources, which show us
different ways to understand a particular topic or idea. In general, a computer has helped the
education world and also has changed the way we work and learn. With all this, it enhances
creativity and thinking skills, improves research work and helps in communicating with
different education providers, gives instant information on any topic in just a single click, and
many more.

Secondly, we talk about social computing or computer’s benefits on the social aspect
which is the process that provides an increased rate of speed of the access to knowledge.
Besides it also provides a wide range of knowledge through the interaction with multiple
users. It computing offers a great range of communication among all the users by connecting
them together and thus reduce the cost of the communication to a great extent. This process of
Social Computing increases the efficiency of the users and thus increases the speed of the
access to the experts. By this process, a better performance and a greater efficiency is achieved
by the users. Social Computing helps also the organizations in many ways like sharing the
knowledge among the different users, keeping them up to date about different knowledge and
experiences, reducing the interruptions and finding the experts for different purposes and
connecting them accordingly.
Thirdly, the professional field is concerned as well by the use of computer as the other
fields. There’s no doubt that computers and computer networks have had a significant effect
on the world of business. It's difficult to imagine a time when file folders, phone calls and face-
to-face meetings were the only ways to conduct business. The truth is, an entire generation of
employees doesn't remember days without the benefits of computers, cell phones and the
internet as part of their business experience. Anything and everything accomplished in the
hustle and bustle of today's business world owes its speed to the computer. Whether it's
accounting for or transferring large sums of money, conducting transactions and accepting
payments for online goods and services, mammoth calculations, research or communications,
one of the biggest benefits of computers is that everything takes less time than ever before.
What once had to be done in person now can be done via text message, email or social media.
Gone also are the days of having to dig out a dictionary to check the spelling of a word, hire an
accountant to check the math on balance sheets or employ a librarian to maintain a room full
of files. Then too, the number of problems from human error is significantly reduced through
the advantages of computer systems. The ability to forecast is increased; Powerful computers
and software algorithms make it possible for businesses to conduct complex financial
projections to help them make important business decisions that will affect long-term growth
and sustainability. Computers help project show how certain variables increased sales, a
downturn in the economy, a new product line, for instance how they might affect the bottom
line a year or so in the future. Before computers, determining the best- and worst-case scenarios
in business was tedious at best. Imagine the work required to forecast the outcome for a
company like Microsoft taking a risk on a new software program or Apple building its new $5
billion headquarters in California. The connectivity is increased. Computers have connected
people in the modern world in ways never before imagined. No longer is it necessary to hop
on an airplane to conduct a business meeting with a client in another part of the world - a simple
video conference will do the trick. There is no longer an excuse for employees not to be
involved in important business functions because they're out of the office. The collaboration
opportunities with computers in the workplace make it easier than ever to share ideas and to
collaborate. Teams of workers can be connected through networks that span the globe, allowing
them to share and edit documents, work on designs and send emails to stay in touch. Some of
the advantages of computer application technology include easily scheduling meetings and
booking conference rooms, sharing files instantly and conducting meetings through
videoconferencing. When multiple devices are connected to the same network, employees can
collaborate from different parts of the world at once, eliminating the need for any one person
to be in the office.

To add more, computers have revolutionized the way health care is delivered. mobile
hospital carts with computers allow easy access to patient data and electronic medical records.
Computers also speed up the diagnosis and treatment process, improving health outcomes. This
allows doctors and nurses to provide better patient care while reducing overhead costs. There
is no denying that computers have transformed the health care industry. Health care facilities
now digitize medical records and make them accessible online. Doctors and patients can share
information more efficiently. This increased transparency has led to better communication
between providers and patients and has also helped to improve the quality of care. Computer
technology has made it possible for providers to offer more personalized care by tailoring
treatment plans to individual patients. As a result, computer technology is playing an
increasingly important role in health care and is likely to have even more impact in the years
to come.
Using computerized medical carts in health care settings offers several potential advantages.
Perhaps most importantly, these carts can help improve medication administration accuracy.
Medication errors occur in approximately 5.07% of hospital patients every year. This can
dramatically reduce patient health outcomes and potentially leave health care facilities liable
for damages caused by medical malpractice.
By documenting each step of the medication-dispensing process, computerized carts can help
reduce the risk of errors. They also decentralize pharmaceuticals in medical facilities. Research
suggests that hospitals with decentralized pharmaceutical distribution systems had a 45%
decrease in medication errors. These carts can help streamline the medication-dispensing
process, freeing nurses and other clinicians to focus on other tasks. Computerized medical carts
can be equipped with barcode scanners, which can be used to verify that the correct medication
is being dispensed. This additional level of safety can be critical in high-risk situations, such
as when dispensing controlled substances.
And then, paper files, a paper chart, and other paper medical records are things of the past with
electronic health records (EHRs). EHRs help store and organize patient medical history,
making it easier for doctors and nurses to access and update information. Immediate access to
complete health records can lead to better patient care and fewer errors. Electronic records offer
several advantages over paper records, including improved accuracy, efficiency, and patient
safety. Electronic health record systems allow clinicians to instantly access a patient’s medical
history, making it easier to provide accurate diagnoses and high-quality care. In addition, EHRs
allow sharing of information between different care providers, which can help care
coordination. The task automation with computers can help automate administrative tasks,
freeing time for nurses and doctors to focus on patient care. Hospital staffs are under immense
pressure to provide high-quality care while meeting stringent budget constraints. One way to
help alleviate some of this pressure is to automate health care tasks with computer software.
Hospital administrators can use software to schedule appointments, track patient records, and
manage hospital finances. Computerized physician order entry systems can help doctors more
accurately and efficiently prescribe medications. By automating routine tasks, hospital staff
can focus on providing direct patient care and enhancing the overall quality of care.

Finally, computers are compelling in legal and law enforcement domains. The police
and law enforcement rely on computers to track and analyze large amounts of data. From
tracking down your missing loved ones to prosecuting criminals, computers are used by law
enforcement to track and analyze large amounts of data. The use of computers provides a
more effective way of searching and analysis of huge volumes of data. Thousands of crimes
are reported daily and handling such voluminous crimes cases can be challenging as it
requires sufficient evidence through analysis of data. Computers or software provides a
strategy in which huge data can be collected and analyzed easily, thus speeding investigations
and prosecution of criminal cases. For example, new data technologies provide virtual image
representation of crime scene; the Orasis system for instance provides a way of recreating
crime scene. Moreover, the use of technology provides benefits to the local, state and federal
investigative agencies through reduction in evidence processing time, enhancement of
accuracy and incorporation of audio and images into one entity, leading to cost and time
savings. Finger prints, image identity and DNA tests can be analyzed easily through the use
of computer software. This helps in fast and reliable identification and prosecution of
criminal cases where the criminals could otherwise be hard to identify. A good example on
how computer/software can be useful in such cases are the child pornography cases and in
rape. In such instances, the computer aided DNA tests and image analysis can be very
effective in collecting the data regarding the offenders. In addition, it is important that the
evidence is recreated in an exact manner, for example registry entries should remain in exact
same manner, a task that is difficult to carry out.

To sum up, computers become more and more useful nowadays and as the world
moves towards a completely digital era, computers are important for us more than ever.
Although it has his bad sides, it’s noteworthy that his good effects are more valuable than the
bad ones.

5. Health and Medical

We spend a lot of time in our homes and offices sitting down and using our computers. But
sitting down and using a computer can actually be harmful to your health. Excessive sitting can
be bad for your health in a number of ways, including increases in blood pressure and heart
rate, reduced muscle movement, and increased risk of certain diseases.

For example, people who sit down and use their computers for prolonged hours are at an
increased risk of developing a condition called fibromyalgia. This is a type of muscle spasms
that can be difficult to control. Computer monitors and software also tend to collect a lot of
data, which means monitoring your health and that of your loved ones can become a significant
challenge.

Although technology provides benefits to the law enforcement agencies, it has its own
drawbacks. The major challenge in the use of technology is making the information collected
electronically to be admissible in the court. According to (Casey and BS, 2011, p. 255) crimes
are not done in a way that is easy to decipher. For example, criminals can modify data easily,
which makes it hard for such data to be admissible in the court as evidence. This offers a
disadvantage to the use of technology in law enforcement as the data may be distorted or
modified, making investigations hard to undertake and to prosecute the offenders.
