Candidacy Information:
Application Submission, Acceptance, Fees

Thank you for your interest in NEBB’s CxCT individual certification program. The following information outlines the
details of the certification process. This credential was previously called NEBB’s Building Systems Commissioning
Certified Technician (BSC CT).

CxCT Application for Candidacy


1. Please complete the Application for Candidacy and all applicable documents and submit to
[email protected].
2. There is a non-refundable Application for Candidacy fee which must be paid at the time of submitting your
completed Application.
3. When emailing the completed Application, please include the following documents to be considered. Please
send in separate PDF files to be validated:
• Copy of educational degree (if applicable)
• Copy of professional resume
• Professional Job Duties/Responsibility Overview Document. This document should provide a brief
overview of the knowledge, skills, abilities, duties and tasks you had responsibility for on each of the
projects you listed on your application.
4. Once the Application for Candidacy is received, it goes into Staff Review.
• Staff review of the application and related documents can take up to two weeks from receipt.
• Once you are an approved Certification Candidate, NEBB will send you information on the various
exams.

1. NEBB non-refundable CxCT Application for Candidacy fee: $50
2. NEBB CxCT Written Exam fee (per attempt): $225

Officially Achieving Certification


1. Once you have passed all the required CxCT exams, please contact [email protected] for an Application for
Certification Form to complete and return with payment to NEBB.
2. Upon receipt of the completed Application for Certification and payment, you will receive your official CxCT
certification number and certificate.
• Candidates should complete this final stage of the process as soon as possible upon passing the exam.
You are not officially certified until the Application for Certification is completed, sent in, and fees
paid.

CxCT Certification fees


1. CxCT Certification: $50
2. CxCT Certificate: $30

Study Materials
1. A list of recommended publications for this credential are available within the appropriate candidate
guide. NEBB publications are available through your Certelligence account. If you do not currently have
a Certelligence account, an account will be created for you once you apply for candidacy.
2. Watch for NEBB seminars on this topic on our events page.
3. NEBB offers training courses through the NEBB Learning Center (NLC).
4. In cooperation with ASHRAE, NEBB offers affordable training courses for continuing education.
