My Childhood Adventure
When I was a child, I used to be an average and quite shy student. I
always sat in the last row of the classroom, trying to go unnoticed. I
used to avoid raising my hand to answer questions because I feared
making mistakes.
One day, the teacher asked me to solve a problem on the board. I
felt very nervous and made a mistake. The teacher helped me correct
my error, but I felt embarrassed.
After that, I practiced more at home to avoid going through the same
situation again. I realized that making mistakes was part of learning
and started participating more in class.

STEP 2 - READING ACTIVITY

“A Green Journey”
According to the text, answer the following questions.
 Why does Lisa believe that education is essential for making a change
towards sustainability? Explain it.
Lisa believes that education is essential to achieving greater sustainability
because it provides the knowledge and awareness needed to understand
the impact our actions have on the environment. By educating oneself on
sustainable lifestyles, individuals can make informed decisions that help
protect the environment. Lisa's own journey reflects this belief as she has
educated herself on sustainable practices and made significant changes to
her lifestyle to reduce her impact on the environment.
 What kind of changes have you adopted at home to have a greener
future? Describe 2 of them.
 Energy-efficient appliances: I replaced old, inefficient appliances with
energy-efficient ones. This change not only reduced my electricity usage but
also my electricity bills. For example, I switched to LED light bulbs and
energy-efficient refrigerators and washing machines.

 Reusable bags: I started using reusable bags for shopping instead of plastic
bags. This simple change helps reduce plastic waste and its harmful effects
on the environment. I keep some reusable bags in my car and at home so
that I always have them on hand when I go shopping.

STEP 3 - WRITING ACTIVITY

I remember that when I was in high school, I liked to read books and listen to music at full
volume. I liked to dress informally and comfortably. Furthermore, I wore jeans and t-shirts.
Besides, I had long, dark hair, and I felt good about my appearance. Furthermore, I spoke
informally with my friends, used colloquial expressions, and liked to tell jokes. We also
talked about important and deep topics.
I was a passionate and intense person. I got involved in the things I liked and defended
what I believed. However, I was also sensitive, and criticism affected me. High school was
an important stage for me. It helped me discover who I was and what I wanted to do in life.
Although it wasn't always easy, I'm grateful for the memories of that time.

BE GREEN
Simple Actions to Help the Environment
In this article, we will explore ECO actions to reduce their harmful effects on the
environment. Taking measures to protect our planet is crucial to ensuring a sustainable
future. We can start by reducing the use of plastic, recycling more, and using public
transportation or bicycles. It's also important to support companies that commit to
sustainability and reduce our energy and water consumption.

By adopting these ECO actions, we can make a significant difference in reducing the
harmful effects on the environment. Every small action count, and together we can create a
positive change. So, let's be green and do our part to protect the environment! Being green
means being responsible for the planet and for future generations.
